Right . Fistly apologies for the late appearance of the compiled list of questions. The last week has been a nightmare with 'real life' stuff taking precedence over 40k goings on.

 

The questions have been taken from those posted on B&C, IW forums and IW mailing list. I've done some pruning and tidying of questons and compiled them into a document I'll be sending to Pete/Graham.

 

A number are repeated from differing posters but the instruction is to allow Pete/Graham to answer what they can from the list - not every single question. So when the answers come back and are posted please don't feel agrieved if your question hasn't been answered.

Iron Warrior Question & Answer.

STYX:

Will the Siege Specialist rule be updated for the new 40k Rules? They removed the same ability from the Imperial Fists which was the opposite of the Iron Warriors. What is the future of this special ability?

 

PROT :

1- The first novel, and even the second novel (involving IW) to a large degree, indicate an almost flirtatious relationship with Khorne, is there any chance we'll see this reflected in the rules (again)? (last time it was Berserkers).

 

2- Forrix is the man. It was left open to interpretation on his actual death. We know he has a hate on for the half-breed. Is there ANY chance we'll see him come back? Whether in fiction or game play? (I'd love to see him come back, I think I liked him better than Honsou).

 

3- I don't know what the sales numbers are for books involving Iron Warriors, but is there any chance they merit getting a series of novels of their own?

 

4- A lot people fear the opponent who pulls out Iron Warriors at a tournament. The advantages they carry are very obvious. After many years I've put them away because of this. What's your thought on using them as an army? Where do you believe they fit in as far as strengths and weaknesses? And further to that, is there anything you regret/wish you could change as far as their current rule set is concerned?

Do you feel that the iron warrior list is as balanced in 4th edition as it was in 3rd?

For Graham McNeil:

1: When is his next Honsou/Ventris book coming out???

 

For Pete:

1: What happen to the Bezerkers?

2: Is there going to be more background on the IW in the Eye of Terror campaign

3: When will we get to see his army again full painted in the WD, just last time we seen them there only undercoated?

4: What is the Iron Warrior goal with Chaos, will they ever turn there back & start a heresy of there own.

 

Appertaining to the model ranges:

1: Are there any plans for new IW models???

2: Will Honsou feature as a special character for IW's

3: Will IW get a plastic Vindicator kit ?

4: Will there be Plastic Daemon Prince (the metal one is good, but plastic easy to convert.)

5: Will there be new Sorcerer models any time soon?

6: Ask if they are going daemonic siege tanks????? Also, if Forge world are going to do a daemonic Vindicator tank.

7: will there be any Limited Edition models like the original Emperor Champion,.... but for chaos...Honsou perhaps?

8: That rule question I ask. How does Daemon Speed get effect in Omega games, do they count as beast for that reason or not, as there no listing in the rule book on model with Daemon Speed?

9: Also more fluff on what happen during the Eye of Terror would be good.

10: Did you have a nice holiday?????

Ask them if they're working on plastic Obliterators and plastic chaos dreads?

 

DR WHO:

What about daemon engines? I know that the IW are somewhat "secular" for CSM, but since you can already give them MOCU, why not go all the way. It fits with the siege aspects as well.

 

Actually, my real question is, what can be done to drive the siege aspect of IW home to the player. The use of artillery and an extra HS slot was a step in the right direction, but it is not completely represented by that. Anyone can have a load of tanks.

 

And another question that popped in my head. Why has the IW box set been changed to mail order only status, and why has the IW lord w/ servo arm been removed from the online store? I somehow doubt that they are making new models, since all of GW resources just finished with the Tyranid (but then again, they did make a few new SM chaplain models?).

Q: Will fluff for all legions change the way they all fight, not just Iron Warriors?

I see it as fair considering that the Death Guard, World Eaters, Thousand Son and EC all got

has anyone else noticed people comment on iron warriors being a shooty army? i think they are equally good at combat as the blood angels and khorne but choose to use these skills at the right moment rather than taking a risk of loosing loads of men
