An Index Astartes on the Chapter that has totally and utterly commited themselves to fighting the Tyranids. With the exception of those foes of the Imperium who get in the way of the Hunting  Emperor show mercy on those fools.

Death Marauders

Origins:

The Death Marauders chapter was founded during the 24th Space Marine founding. Having the need for another Chapter to strengthen the Imperium hold on the Eastern Fringe it was decree by the High Lords of Terra that the Death Marauders would be founded, of Space Marine Gene-Seed. So it was that the Adeptus Mechanicus made the preparations, gathering Gene-Seed and equipment together. Meanwhile the Ultramarines were called upon to school this new Chapter, provide leadership and train them in the art of battle. The Death Marauders were now ready to make their mark upon Galaxy. Their Chapter Master Jaynar Cyarro, an experienced Ultramarine First Company Terminator Sergeant led his small Chapter well with strategic finesse and an eye for opportunity. He instilled into his Brothers, who he saw as equals a following of the great Codex written by their Primarch Roboute Guilliman. It was during the battle for the fourth planet in the system outlying the region of Charadon that the Chapters strengths were truly shown. Fighting along side several other Chapters in a Crusade the young Chapter barely a company in strength led the defence of the entire crusades supply lines, which were often hit by innumerable Speed Freaks.

of Space Marine Gene-Seed
This should either be deleted or changed to "Ultramarine gene-seed" as only Space Marines have gene-seed you cant have Non-Space Marine Gene-Seed

the young Chapter barely a company in strength led the defence of the entire crusades supply lines, which were often hit by innumerable Speed Freaks
significantly below strength with a scant 153 marine

Sounds good so far... some brief thoughts:

- If they came from Novamarine geneseed, then I would see it as fitting for the first chapter master to have come from the Novamarines as well, rather than from the Ultras. It could give a bit of scope to examine how their Nova marine heritage has affected them for some extra colour, even if as ultra sucessors the Novamarine parents would be pretty similar to the Ultras. Still, you might be able to use it as a plot hook.

- Near destruction is a pretty common thing among chapters. As has been said above by Ferrata, you will have to take care to differentiate them from the Scythes, as well as the Lamenters, Crimson Fists and a host of other DIY chapters. Perhaps their tactical acumen saw them reduced only to 4-500, still enough to fit on your supersized battle barge. :P

- If they only have the one ship, this would affect their character. Having to stay together, being quite slow and difficult to react to threats. A possible plot hook there too.

- If they have a lot of DeathWatch marines and you continue with the decimated chapter approach, then their return would be eagerly awaited as they would represent a significant increase in numbers.

Keep up the developments, it looks promising. ^_^

^_^ Thanks for the replys! :P Ok around 400 Marines

Yeah they do have Thunderhawks, I meant like they dont have Strike Cruisers or other ships like that.

Where do you get fluff for SOE cause I didnt want them to be like them

Anymore Replys, they would be appreciated!!

The Battle for Jangrille Prime

Jangrille Prime, the capital world of the Jangrille System was a world full of lush vegitation, full of life, ripe for the Plunder of the Hive Fleets.

"Chapter Master we have arrived at our destination, executing Nova Omega battle preparations" Captain Julius Cena of the second's voice rang clear over the steel of the Maraudus Tyrannus. The cloaked figure nodded and stepped down from the view port he was looking through, "How long before they arrive, Brother Cena?"

The Captain replied with a stony voice "Three Days my Lord", the Master nodded "Dismissed"

So the Marauders had three days to prepare. Bunkers were established, acres of forestry destoryed to make way for makeshift Defences. The planets five PDF regiments were drilled in the art of fighting the Xeno they were about to encounter, an entire White Shield Regiment was raised from the Population.

The Marauders fleet took up positions around the planet and the board was set.

On the last day when all was ready and the trenches were dug, the Augurs momentarily picked up something before going blank. All contact with the Astronomican was lost, the shadow of the Hive Mind engulfed them.

Slowly but surely the Hive ships drifted towards them, having already devoured the rest of the worlds in the system. As the hours went by and the battle ready order was held the Bio Ships spewed forth thousands of Mycetic spores, hurtled toward the planet just as the first warheads from the Marauders fleet struck them.

A fierce battle ensured with the overwhelming numbers of a Hive Fleet pitted against the Courage and efficiency of the Marines and their serfs. While the ships duelled, hundreds of thousands of Spore broke through the thin cordon set up and disgorged their contents into the Jungles of the Planet.

"Deck four shift fire to oncoming Spores" the Master of the Fleet spoke into his Vox Caster. He watached as lance fire was shifted from the Bio Ships to the streams of Spores that hurtled through space as fast as a Thunderhawk. For every one incenarated by a Lance was another Brood dead. But a large Bio-Ship its tendrils flailing throgh space drew nearer, the Fleet Master had already seen one of his Destroyers gripped one such vessels and ripped apart at the stern.HE gripped his Caster again "All Deck focus fire on incoming ship" He sighed it was going to be a long battle.

With the Jungles now infested withTyranids the battle began in earnest, brutal Combats occured throughout the Jungle, hidden by the thick canopy. The cries of man and Xeno alike were heard as common as the birds which once infested the jungle. At the start of the conflict it apppeared each time a swarm of spore landed it was surround and pounded with heavy weapons. But soon Genestealers and Lictors were destroying any cohesive attempt to isolate landing hordes and Strategic positions everywhere were being cut off and surrounded, but where the Marauders stood, the Guardsmen held. For every Marine manned bunker it would take an army to crack open. BUt inch by inch ground was forced to be given, soon the first month of conflict was over.

Trooper Vor dashed through the Jungle of his homeworld, his armour painted with white straps to signify him being a white shield was now covered in filth and grime. He heard screams all around, the screams of his comrades. Hearing a low growl he turned around. A broodlord reared its head and leapt into the air claws ready to rip him apart. Before it land explosions rippled across its body and it was severed at the waist. Vor tirned to see three holy warriors of the Emperor standing before him. Their leader merely nodded.

With the defenders throughly entrenched the Tyranids landed more and more of their warriors landed and the Imperiums position became more and more tenuous. In space, one by one the ships of the Space Marines and the Imperial Navy were being ripped apart, but they continued to hold back much of the Tidal wave spilling out from the Sea of Death. As the third month of battle comes into play the last of the Defenders were shipped off planet, they left a harden core who bought them the time they needed. The last ships of the defence fleet exacted Exterminatus before Maraudus Tyrannus limped away with 400 Marines to nurse their wounds.
