taoofss
Ok did some rethinking, i believe this kicks out some of the kinks. A company of space marines whos home planet has been purged by the inquistition, though still loyal to the emperor, has left their respected chapter and grouped up with the local guard. They have dedicated themselves to sabatoge any and all inquisition doings. Because of this, they are hunted by other space marine chapters. I have to research the fluff a bit more and choose a chapter for them to suceed from, but thats the general gist of it. Id use deamon hunter allias and fill my troop choices with the guard. They would be lead by a chaplain, cause he's there to remind the marines of their loyalty to the emperor. Comments please. ironloki
A company of space marines whos home planet has been purged by the inquistition, though still loyal to the emperor,So only a company? What about the rest of the chapter? Why was it purged? And they may still believe that they are loyal servants of the Emperor but they are heretics in the eyes of the Imperium so are they aware of this fact? grouped up with the local guard what do you mean by local guard - how local? Why would guard join them if they are classed heretics or at the very least Excommunicated? are they also rogues? Or perhaps the inquisitors where radicals gone too far but to amass that amount of firepower to wipe out a planet would be no small thing ;) A nice idea but still a lot of whys to be answered for me :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/80997-scattered-sons/#findComment-935994 Share on other sites
DraXaus
The raven guards would be a fitting gene-seed for a chapter who uses such tactics as sabatoge and covert strikes. Being your chapter whould have to, because the resourse of the inquistition is unlimitless. you might also want to check up on the Alpha Legion (pre-heresy) as they use unorthidox tactics as well. taoofss
The rest of the chapter where not recruited from that planet. Only the sons of the purged planet left their chapter. And by local, i mean the guard from the purged planet. This is just a gernal ideal im fooling around with, ill have more on the whys after i research it a bit. And by local, i mean the guard from the purged planet Okay - sounds bit like how the deathwing termies went to their home planet and fought the nids. Why was the planet purged? and also why where the marines and guard not blown up on the planet unless they were not present on the planet at the time :) Also I dont think the rest of the chapter would be very happy that one of their recruitment grounds were blown up and one of their companies went renegade as they would be under a lot of scrutiny, so whats the rest of the chapter up to? Tell us when you've got more info ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/80997-scattered-sons/#findComment-936041 Share on other sites
Commissar Molotov
The second draft of your idea is much better in my eyes. Making it marines from one chapter makes it much more characterful, and you can describe the reasoning behind their worlds' demise in the fluff. Good luck.
