Since the mail has been taking an exorbant amount of time to arrive (still haven't gotten my GW stuff, going on 4 weeks) I have decided to go back and review my fluff for my DIY sitting at home waiting for me.

 

After careful consideration I decided to scrap my original fluff. It was ok, but I'm liking my new idea. Angel Robertson got my gears going with his off shoot of the BT.

 

Name: Order of Saint Sabbat

 

Geneseed: here's the question, are White Consuls an original founding? If not can their geneseed still be used, or does it have to come from an original founding? Plus does anybody know about what year she died, and then what founding that would make? If I remember right I think it was something like 3000 years back or was it 1000 (don't know cause my books haven't gotten here yet ;) )

 

Traits: Still thinking what would best fit the fluff. I want Clense and Purify (that's what they are doing after all ;) ) But from there I'm not sure which direction to go. I like close combat, but I already have a BT army, so I'm feeling like this one should be more convintional, maybe all I need is the C&P.

 

In a nut shell (cause that's all I have at this time), they were founded after the death of Saint Sabbat (hopefully from the White Consuls, because they had formed her honor guard when she died) and charged with protecting the Sabbat worlds. They are fleet based because for one the Sabbat worlds cover a large area, and two the system was overrun by choas and they had to pull out abandoning any ground bases. They are now working with the crusade to liberate the captured worlds (story as told in the Gaunts Ghosts novels). Still kicking around ideas in my head and trying to organize them. Seeming to be very similar to king richards crusades trying to take back Jerusalim.

 

I will stick w/ my old color scheme, just cause I like it so much. Green legs, torso, and arms (mid range green, scorpian I think, with a green ink wash). Black Shoulder pads, helmets, and backpacks (and my favorite part yellow eyes). Crests and skulls are bleached bone, with fleshwash and white highlights. I plan on using the Fleur De Lies, for chapter emblem. Vets, commanders, chappys, etc get white helmets(w/ green eyes). While it is pretty similar to a Sally's paint scheme, I've coined it "the armor of mourning" just for fluff.

if i remember the white consuls are a successor of the Ultramarines....

Geneseed is all fron the big boi's. The ultramarines, the salamanders, the spacewolves, the blood angels, the iron hands, the white scars, the raven guard, the imperial fists, and the dark angels. Take your pic from there.

 

- there is not one geneseed, there are 19.

 

Your chapter doesn't need the geneseed from a specific chapter. Conditions of the planet where they are recruited from and things the chapter has to do to survive have far greater impact on who they become. (look at the mortifactors for example)

Cool, thx for the input, now i just need a founding ^_^ Anybody else up on the Gaunts Ghost fluff that might know when the saint was killed.

I'm not as tight on the fluff as some people around here are but even I'm bothered by the name Order of St.Sabbat. Good name for an SOB force but not a chapter of marines. How about:

 

Sabbat Guardians

Praetors of Sabbat

Praetors of St.Sabbat

Sabbat Defenders

Defenders of Sabbat

Hmm... I'm going for the crusade feel, praetors doesn't really fit well, and I want something a little more flashy then defenders. But thanks for your suggestions, I did consider looking into something different but I feel that what I got fits best for what I'm going for.
