space wolf
those are PHENOMINAL! i only have one gripe, to me lord knighmare's legs to spindly in comparison to his torso...but thats a really small, knitpicky thing, they all look fantastic...glad to see someone playing knightlords. DCEET
Just checking in to prove id had a look mate :D Love the terror markings, I was gunna suggest a "punisher" skull for one of them but I see you already thought of that one..... Like the eyes, personally I liked to original boltgun, but with the pale flesh they kinda got lost. All the pale flesh makes them look very vampiric in my opinion. Also the sword on knightmare is a lil bit small in comparison ;) Just kidding, good job. Id like to see what you can do with some raptors (with some conversion obviously), I think with terror markings they would look awesome. -][-Danek-][-
I've already done the Soul Edge, and was quite unhappy with it. The Soul Edge fits Nightmare,a character from the game Soul Calibur 2. The Sithicus on the otherhand fits Knightmare,Lord-Commander of the Night Lords Second Grand Company. As for the comment about Knightmare's legs looking "too spindly",I've come to agree with that.As a result,I plan on re-designing him one final time(talented sculpters that would care to assist, feel free to PM me.. ;) ),as well as Faythe,Cross and Desaad. As to why the dismal lack of updates,I'm sadly without a good Digicam at the moment.Rest assured though that Re-Inventing Fear is a project that is constantly on going.Currently I've finished my 1500 points, and am branching out into other areas; Re-Inventing Fear in Kill-Team(The Harriers) Re-Inventing Fear in Space Hulk(The Terrorwing) Re-Inventing Fear in BFG(The Fleet) Re-Inventing Fear in Cityfight(a modular Cityfight board representing a world specifically under seige from the Night Lords Second Grand Company) Speaking of which, this affords me an opportunity to ask a question of my brethren here. How would you go about painting fresh blood? I'm currently working on "flags" to use in Cityfight scenarios like Firesweep. These flags will also carry the theme of the destruction of innocence and faith, ranging from shattered Aquilas to dismembered citizens hanging from streetlights. I want the blood to look as fresh as possible, pooling underneath the bodies/remains in a realistic way. Can this easily be accomplished with standard paints and inks,or should I look to GW's Water Effects? Terminatorinhell
for the blood u can make 2 types of red water it down a little and pool it around the bodies and for nightmares legs just bulk the shins and make the knee more angular and u will be fine Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/82569-re-inventing-fear/page/5/#findComment-1077226 Share on other sites
Tubal
Fresh blood is a very bright red, perhaps too bright to work in 40k-scale. I suggest you wet-blend a little scab red into the blood to make it look less uniform and to tone it down a little. Regular paints with a little gloss varnish should be good enough, unless you want really massive amounts of blood ;) Blood isn't transparent though, so make sure you mix a lot of paint into the water effects (if you use it) or paint over it.
