Grandmaster of the Deathwing w.i.p.

Recommended Posts

hi there,

during the time b&c was down i took my time to start recycling my old plastic termis.

since i always wanted to start a deathwing-army, this was my chance to put these oldies to some use...

i used the back the tda together with the sergeants mk. 8 torso (thanks to brother sinear from www.repent.be for the inspiration). both arms came from logan grimnar but i thought a sword would fit my GM nuch better (it is from the old termi-captain). i used plasticsheets to make him taller and broader (he

Dang!

You wait a few months for the BnC to come back for inspiration and then this comes up - seeing as I've got the Grimnar model for the charging Termi legs I had the axe arm free. Thanks to you, now I know exactly what to do with it.

Blatant ideas-nicking will now begin....

Thats looking like a really sweet conversion, nice gs work and a dynamic pose - lets hope the paintjob will do it justice!

I painted my deathwing captains robe white with a black and white checkered pattern (like the old rt guys) arouns the border, the scrawled some text in the middle (sry dont have a pic) while its still pretty close to the bone armor is has enough definition to read as a seperate part.

Otherwise i would say go with your standard DA green robes, its common for a reason :)

Love that GS work, great use of seperate models too for the conversion. My hat goes off to you.

If you intend to use the standard Bleach Bone armour, then I think the robe would be best in a DA green, however I have seen some good miniatures that have lightish brown robes that can look quite good if they're done properly. It can help emphasise the monk look that associates with DAs. Throw some tears into the robe and frayed ends and you're onto a winner. :)

Nice work on the robes, looking good :P

Definitely a better attempt than the robes ive tried making on a basic marine, although i was happy in the fact it didnt look really bad. Plus, making robes over legs is a pain in any case :)
