insane30
It's good as ever. One thing i particularly noticed is how you gave your termi sarge the look of a shaved head. How did you achieve that effect? -Your Randomly Numbered Psychotic Friend
migsula
TOO much great stuff in one go!! Thanks a bunch for the inspiration! It's time I do some more Marines ;) I like the Ven Dread the most and the two bare headed terminators. -migs
B3T$T3R
Some cool looking marines you've done I like the way the shaved head of your termi sargent has got scars marked across it, very realistic Keep it up!

splayedpaintbrush
well i have to admit as i was looking at the first pic i was thinking i didnt like the colour scheme, but as i kept going from pic to pic, it started to grow on me. Then i saw the dreadnought..... that is one sweet dread! couple of questions... how do you paint the skin/shaved head? how did you paint the crux terminatus? (if thats whats its called, left shoulder pad) looks like stone.
Cpt_Tiberius
...wow Those are brilliant! I always look forward to your posts, your minis are always beautiful. My favorite was the terminator squad...then I saw the Dreadnaught. ;) These are always so well painted. How long does a typical squad/marine take you to paint? Commissar Molotov
What a suave dude that Molotov guy is... ;) I'm liking them as ever, Des... I think that Land Speeder could do with more black, though. If the main 'body' of it, behind the crew, was black, it might help the look a lot more. And I'm glad to see the assault cannon I sent you got put to good use. ;) One question: With names like Borys, Ivan, Oleg, and Molotov, it seems you're going for Russian-esque names. Is that the case? If so, have you settled on a name for the Dreadnought?
ironloki
While I prefer the old box dreads I love the gritty fealing on yours. Great stuff as ever ;)
ToyShip
You are truly an inspiration to this lowly painter of minis! ;)
Brother Gothard
Mr. Desmodus, sir, if it please you, how on earth DO YOU PAINT YELLOW LIKE THAT?!?!?!? /cry ;) ;) Seriously, I demand you tell me. You're painting that on a black undercoat, correct? It's so brilliant, it makes my eyes hurt! I'm going insane trying to paint yellow on my black undercoated marines. Insane! Ferrata
;) I to would like to know how you managed to pull of the shaven look, it looks too realisitic :D All though, for some reason the second terminator looks gormless, must be his helmet ;) Ferrata

Obliterator
So you kept yourself busy I see! Stunning job, that yellow never ceases to amaze me. Also some very nice weathering on your ven. dread! no-use4a-name
You're army looks great. The yellow is very clean w/o being overwhelming and the amount of details are just right. You always have a way of doing just the right amount with your models. Thanks for the inspiration. *puts down Ork and picks up Marine*

KP13
As always, awesome stuff here! Aside from missing the B&C in general, I was really missing your awesome Marines Malevolent threads! Where does the army go after these WIPs are completed?
Artimis Vergadin
Great stuff!!! Wonder if shaved head would work on sallies? Don't think so cos the grey would not show up to well against the black skin.
Ardus
Sweet stuff Des! love the shaved heads and the dred. The only thing that looks a little unfinished on the termis is the crux. I think it needs a little more highlighting or lines to make it look like marble. my .02 Ardus.

Then i saw the dreadnought..... that is one sweet dread! couple of questions... how do you paint the skin/shaved head? how did you paint the crux terminatus? (if thats whats its called, left shoulder pad) looks like stone. Skin: explained further down. The cruxes are basecoated with a 1:1:1 mix of black, codex grey and rotting flesh. I added rotting flesh succesively for highlights and then glazed with a little green ink. ...wow Those are brilliant! I always look forward to your posts, your minis are always beautiful. My favorite was the terminator squad...then I saw the Dreadnaught. These are always so well painted. How long does a typical squad/marine take you to paint? Ages! But the termies were all done on a forced schedule, I had a game coming up, they took me the better part of a month to do, the odd hour here and there. What a suave dude that Molotov guy is... ^_^ I'm liking them as ever, Des... I think that Land Speeder could do with more black, though. I forgot to mention you in the thread, thanks again for the asscan! :) All-russian names, that's the idea. Haven't decided on the dread yet. While I prefer the old box dreads I love the gritty fealing on yours. Great stuff as ever :tu: Thanks, it took a while to come up with a rusty, oily finish that I liked, in the end it turnd out to be rather simple. splayedpaintbrush
Thanks for the info next question, can you do a tutorial on how to do those faces please. i mean i thought they were good in the previous pics but the close ups are amazing, they have loads of character. painting flesh is one of my weak points. Haven't decided on the dread yet. Never a problem. What about Piotr/Pyotr? I figure you want something relatively short to fit on the scrolls. I can suggest more... :D
