ArbitesAugmented
Nice slave idea with the lascannon, did you gloss them, cos they look a bit shiny to me... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85001-my-night-lords/#findComment-982871 Share on other sites

Grey Knight
the lascannon is really creative, and the conversion for the second guy is really nice too(the one with the tombstone base). they just look a little too shiny. Iron-Daemon Forge
Throat: Nice to see your models up here. Lord Crucis look great & good seem him painted as last time he was still in plastic, also it a nice conversion. So are these some of the models you will be taken to the UK Grand Tournament in October???? The Lascannon Marine fit the Night Lords theme very well. Kaldoth
I remember seeing these on the NL forums ^_^ Nice job with them all! But, they all look really glossy for some reason. Is it the camera, or do you ink them? -Kaldoth Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85001-my-night-lords/#findComment-984207 Share on other sites
Throat
Thanks for the comments guys. The models were inked, but I used a Satin varnish, as I wanted the armour to look Hard, (Matt Varnish tends to make things look soft like fabric). Its also because I am basing the fluff for these guys on a planet were rain and storms are the norm and the shine helps the models look as though water is running over them. IP yep these are the guys I am hoping to take to the GT, just had a fortnight off work and only half finished a squad heyho. flyinghippo
I would cement the rain idea a little more. You may have a purpose for it but to your average person it would look like a mistake unless you press that reason home. Maybe add a couple puddles on the ground, paint the ground lighter underneath things (sheltered from rain) etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85001-my-night-lords/#findComment-985010 Share on other sites
Shinobi_soldier
i like them. they are a little shinny, to avoid this i would recomend a (water:varnish) 2:1 coat of satin followed by a 5:1 matt. seems to dull it down without making it seem like silk...
