daemonclaw
ok i know some of you guys lately are trying to get away from the "chaos looking "chaos marines  but myself i am on the other side ,i dont see the point of having chaos and loyalist if you are going to make them look the same  and just use separate rules . On the other hand i am not the biggest fan of the chaos helmets apart from the mark 5  and i think the basic chaos box set is a little dated and limited(four different legs)and if you are doing big forces it can look a little samey ,which is why i look around to mix other stuff in my army like the black templar stuff , but i want my guys to look as if they have been fighting in the eye of terror where reality is not as we perceive it so armour could get warped.hence the post to show some ideas http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/40knew091.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/40knew089.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/40knew090.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/40knew088.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/c96001ed.jpg there you go a little greenstuff and a warped imagination and you can change the look of your troops what do you think comments and crit welcome ps i am not having a rant about the de chaos thing its just my opinion cheers D  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85234-re-chaosifying-marines/ Share on other sites
AngelSaphire
 It's all about what you see them as. It looks awesome and I love the warped armor which I can't pull off. Your chaos look like as if they were more in the warp unlike how I design my chaos marine. However you dont go overboard with cheesy looking horns and mutations. Can't wait to see more EDIT: It must be because the current rave of Pre-herasy armies that may have instigated all the non-chaosy looking Chaos Marines. However I do wish they'd change the chaos marine box so it could have alot more armor variations Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85234-re-chaosifying-marines/#findComment-985901 Share on other sites
RatofVengance
Nice work mate. I really like the way you have used the greenstuff to individualise the marines. the two handed grip on the chainsword looks totally feral as well  RoV Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85234-re-chaosifying-marines/#findComment-985907 Share on other sites
Moribund the Burgermeister
Lovely! I really like the faces on their leg armour, and, as I still need inpiration for my Champion of Chaos, I wonder if you have a tutorrial for them, other than "put the green stuff where you want it and make a face". Of course, if that's the way you did it it's cool anyway! The reason I chose to make a more during-Herey style Chaos Space Marine was simply to experiment. After having painted hundreds (or atleast a hundred) Chaos Space Marines with trims and spikes on them, I needed something new. I don't hate the spiky-looking Marines, just wanted some variation, that's all! Moribund. PS) Could you post a photo of your nemesis terminator? the ones that you have in your avatar? feuer_faust
EDIT: It must be because the current rave of Pre-herasy armies that may have instigated all the non-chaosy looking Chaos Marines. [/edit] Hardly. Last thign I wanted was another pe-heresy project: I just wanted a subtler look. But, OT, these marines are pretty close to the kind of thing I'm after. The leering facing are interesting (none of the plastics have them), but the models are devoid of any other chaotic stuff (minus that face ont he shoulder pad and the arrows). Quite nifty. Frozenflame
Real nice work on the marines. I really like the greaves. If I saw those before I did my EC I would do those as well. Oh well, maybe for my next squads. ^_^ That's the way chaos marines are supposed to look. B) Nice job on getting them back into chaos. StratoKhan
Great sculpting on the marines, very effective. I really like the one with the 2 handed weapon. I was wondering how much time it took you to sculpt the details on the greaves, and if you had a pic of what was on the pistol marine's shoulder pad. daemonclaw
stratokhan:sorry for late reply  the details were done in about 15-20 minutes each ,the basic premise being to mould a little piece on each greave then set about scoring and shaping the green in anything that comes to mind  as for the shoulder pad its just a bit of green shaped to look like shredded parchment cheers D  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85234-re-chaosifying-marines/#findComment-990038 Share on other sites
