Upgrading ye old rhino

Here's a link to a picture of a predator I did.

I built up the front with a "box nose" and layered plastic-card in a very patchy fashion on the whole thing.

The angle is unfortunate, because you can't see the side armor. The best bit, IMO, is the grille-work over the exhaust ports. You can see part of it from the front. Plate with holes punched is often used as spaced armor (sometimes with a filler material behind it) because it causes shaped charges to pre-detonate and can make solid rounds tumble before they reach the main armor.

This particular vehicle is also modeled for "demonic possesion", hence the bars over the windows and hatches.

1/35 scale modern armour kits provide a wealth of goodies! M2 Bradleys, M113 APCs, tanks with reactive armour. Go out and treat yourself to a 1/35 armour kit and you'll be swimming in good stuff for years to come! B)

I just scrounged some extra armour from the left overs of an M113 I did several years ago. Pics on the way!

Cheers,

Pegasus

EDIT: The pics are here! Yay! :(

Showing the front end. This is actually just a hood cover from a Vietnam era M113. It's a bit wider than the space between the tracks, but this just makes it look like field modifications.

Another view of the front.

View of the back. These two parts are from the rear of the M113. They fit perfectly!

Mods: sorry if the pics are too big. Please let me know and I'll convert them to links.

All: sorry about the blurry pics, I'm trying to get my hands on a better camera.

Quick edit: almost forgot. The other plates of armour at the front are just sheets of 1mm plasticard.

Cheers,

Pegasus
