Cpt_Tiberius
Well here is my latest endeavor. I wanted to do an average Tac marine as opposed to the special characters I usually do. I also tried a different approach by layering the colors on top of the line art instead of underneath. I also painted the face instead of just coloring the line art as usual. It came out a bit rough but overall not bad for my first real attempt at it. So take a look and let me know what you think. Red Hunter Tactical Marine, 2nd. Co. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/Cpt_Tiberius/red_hunter.jpg Here is a detail shot of the face.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v650/Cpt_Tiberius/RH_head-detail.jpg Enjoy! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85534-red-hunter-tactical-marine/ Share on other sites
Commissar Molotov
It looks impressive, Tiberius, though I have to say I don't like the legs. It's quite different stylistically to your other work, the difference in colouring is noticeable, I think. He looks very oddly proportioned, but very cool. It's certainly an interesting take, and it's always good to see artists developing their skills and trying new styles. wulfgarr
That's fantastic.Everything to me looks like it is in scale.Ive seen alot and other people make the bolter half that size which to me looks wrong. The coloring looks just great with the highlights and shading. The head is really nicely done.Would like to see more work like this.Please. Master_Aerethos
At first glance it seems as though his left leg is going backwards. It's a little odd, but y'know, the rest of it is pretty much... :jaw: :jaw: :jaw: .......... Master_Aerethos Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85534-red-hunter-tactical-marine/#findComment-989716 Share on other sites
Aciid_Daemon
Wow, thats really cool. I like the light red lines, they make the armor look shiny. What program did you use to colour it? I would like to see your take on a robed Dark Angel because that bit of cloth is really nicely shaded. Obliterator
The face and shoulder pad are ace! However, the SENMM on the tubes on his chest looks a bit off. I feel the earth shouldn't follow the axis of the tubes as it does now... Ahmato
I think it looks excellent and the face is spot on, IMO :jaw: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85534-red-hunter-tactical-marine/#findComment-989781 Share on other sites
StratoKhan
I liked the drawing quite a lot, but the left leg looks like it's twisted towards the side. The arms seem very bulky perhaps, when compared to the head? The colouring is very good. And the overrall impression one gets is of martial power. Good stuff, keep it up. Tubal
The leg does look a little wonky  I like the upper body though, and the details like the purple seal, black cloth etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85534-red-hunter-tactical-marine/#findComment-989894 Share on other sites

Cpt_Tiberius
<waves hand in Molotov's dirrection> you WILL ignore the proportions on this image! ha ha...uh So after looking at it I noticed his left arm is huge-normous and the bolter is a bit to big. And the head is a bit small (I was going for the Paul Dainton look, but it didn't quite pan out... ) What program did you use to colour it?Photoshop 7 I would like to see your take on a robed Dark Angel Well I did one before, but I'm not happy with it. I may try another at some point. the SENMM on the tubes on his chest looks a bit off.Yeah I know. I just wasn't sure how to handle that. Also I was going for a darker metal than shiny chrome. I'm interested to hear if you guys think it reads as such. please explain how you went about painting the scratches on the armour After I finished the illustration, I went back with the Dodge tool and a fine brush and went to town. Thanks again, all your comments are most appreciated. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85534-red-hunter-tactical-marine/#findComment-989947 Share on other sites
Penitent Dreadnought
<waves hand in Molotov's dirrection> you WILL ignore the proportions on this image! ironloki
I like the big ass bolter and the smaller head. Gives it a kind of kick as a hunter should have a big huge gun. Fealing and image over proportions anyday in my opinion. But then again my artistic skills are limited to stickmen. Big gun and Red armour. What more could you want  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85534-red-hunter-tactical-marine/#findComment-990153 Share on other sites
