crossmagus
OK, so like so many other people, I have to pause, dig my toe into the ground, and admit that my son is a Xenos-loving Tau player. But for a 12-year old, he can draw. His mom is the 'Nid player, by the way - it was her mini that he used as a model. I offered to model the bolter holes in it with a heated safety pin, but she didn't go for it. :) http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/crossmagus/ryanmarinedrawing.jpg I will pass along all feedback, so feel free to comment. Ahmato
The Bolter and arch in the backround are well drawn, give your son a pat on the back from me  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85599-advancing-over-nid-bodies/#findComment-990538 Share on other sites
StratoKhan
Not bad at all, tell him he's done a good job. My g/f was impressed too, and she's usually quite critical of drawings. =) If I could offer any criticisms, I would say that the armpit on the raised arm is a bit funny. Anyways, your son is definitely on the right road. shuriken
Are you sure you didn't draw it and aren't trying to pass it off as a 12 year old's drawing so we give you better feedback? ^_^ It's a really nice picture Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85599-advancing-over-nid-bodies/#findComment-990793 Share on other sites
ConfessorTurpin
Glad to see that there are still folks in this world raising their children to be proper, Emperor-fearing loyalists! Brings a tear to my eye to see parents raising their children correctly... ^_^ Very nice work indeed. DV8
Lovely drawing for a kid his age. Maybe encourage him into going into an art related field? Some points that I find impressive (from a technical standpoint anyways): Understanding of basic perspective. The bolter and the use of fore/mid/back ground is just fantastic. Proportions. His attention to the anatomy of and proper porportions of the subject matter is surprising; something I find most artists (Even the best of us) sometimes have trouble grasping. Detail. The attention given to the little things (like the eagle on his knee pad, the fact that the gaunt has 3 "holes" in the side of his head, and the piping on the underside of the armpit) just make this image pop and give it so much character. Well done. Well done indeed. DV8 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85599-advancing-over-nid-bodies/#findComment-992490 Share on other sites
