death given form
That is a very "different" carrying method... ahem... what does you're opponents say when you show up with that?? Nothing... He probably just craps himself and runs away!!! Nice pistol though, and while I would love to see a heavy bolter, it would probably be to big, and literally TOO heavy. Just my 2 cents though. DGF Actually even fully loaded with my army its not that bad weight wise (like 15 pounds). It is however VERY unweildy. I have to carry the gun, the guns stand and my bag with books and dice and whatnot, It sure makes my ArmyTransport bag worth its weight in gold after hauling it all around for 2 days. B) I took it to Battle for the LoneStar last year. Got tons of ohh's and ahh's about it, and a few odd looks from NASA Security when they noticed it. the_raptor
That bolt pistol is not 1:1 to one. If it was 1:1 it would be bigger then your head and about as long as your chest is wide. Marshal Draziel
My point excactly Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85751-11-scale-bolt-pistol/page/2/#findComment-993555 Share on other sites
the_raptor
My point excactly Yeah but GW use "ludicrious" scale weapons. When you see a scaled up model the proportions look terrible (like those upscaled statues that BL sell), they only look good at 28mm. A 1:1 scale bolt pistol would probably be half the length of an M-16. And a bolter would be stupidly large. It would probably be around the size of those automatic grenade launchers you see mounted on military vehivles. Marshal Draziel
I agree - the sizes have always been inhuman :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/85751-11-scale-bolt-pistol/page/2/#findComment-993636 Share on other sites
Drunken Dreadnought
To the many comments as to the scaling: Yes, I had considered making the pistol the size of my forarm, ie about a foot long. However, I decided to scale it according to the measurements of my hand so that I could actually hold it and not feel like a moron. I like to imagine this to be a smaller, more man-portable version of the Astartes Bolt Pistol that's been manufactured for slight more rank-and-file soldiers of the Imperium. Guard officers, in short. Besides, I wouldn't be able to change the pistol even if I had the willpower to... :D In any case, out with the old and in with the new! This here is my WIP Cadia Pattern Laspistol. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c48/Corellia1/DSCF0568.jpg More: Rear View Scaling, again Obviously it's very plain-looking at the moment, and frankly I'm not sure how to make it more... dynamic. I have plans to add a laser sight to the top, which is why there's a sort of gap there. But after that, I'm at a loss. If anyone wants to help me brainstorm a bit on that matter, I'd definitely appreciate it. :) Oh, and a last addendum. Since I'm utterly insane and quite bored (a lethal combination, I assure you), I've drawn up plans for my next project before the current one's even done! Behold: Muhahaha. The4thHorseman
Man, thats freakin' amazing. Some suggestions to make the pistol look a bit more interesting, perhaps add an imperial eagle or skull to the side. How about mounting the laser inside the barrel instead of the top, so that it looks like its shooting. Is the next project a Storm Bolter? If it is, then thats going to be damn heavy.
