New additions to my Templar

Greets,

I'm pushing myself to finish my army for an upcoming tournament. I paint wretchedly slow but I've come a long way with these guys. Unfortunately I'm still playtesting the list as I paint it!

I've had some recent great games with my Champion so a month ago I got serious about painting him (just did a battle report on the game if you're curious it's in the Black Templar category).

So without further delay, here's my take on the Emperor's Champion (hopefully somewhat unique):

And here is the grand poo-bah, Chaplain Marius 'the one who forgets to zeal':

A partial squad lead by Brother Nomak:

And finally, 1 of 2 speeders I plan on using in the army:

Hope you enjoyed the shots. I gotta grind through a good clump though to get near ready in time. Wish me luck. :P

With results like those i wouldnt push your timescale for painting, for those are some great minitures! :P

I love your EC, the only problem i see is that i think the bolt pistol arm should be raised slightly more. An all in all good use of the black templars holiness with your scripture on the armour.

Keep us posted with progress!

Very nicely done. You have done a great job.

My only criticism, and it is minor, is that on the landspeeder, the writing in front of the gunner, is sideways. I think that it should read from top to bottom, not side to side like that (hope that makes sense).

Other than that, excellent job. I like the EC conversion very much. I'm trying to nail down a Chapter to work on, and as I stated over in your batrep, you are putting forth a very convincing argument for the BT. They are on my short list of choices, and that list may have just gotten shorter.

Later.

Thank you very much for the kind words of encouragement. This is my first real attempt at a non-chaos army in maybe 6 years. (Til now I've been working on IW, DeathGuard, Black Legion)

It definitely motivates me to pain thanks to the encouragement but I don't know if I can realistically make it. I painted most of the weekend and I still need to paint:

-Vindicator

-Predator

- 7 Termies

-3 marines

- 3 Cenobytes

In about a month or so! So I may be dragging out the Iron Warriors if I don't make it. I'll have to decide soon.

So this is a real departure for me but I'm liking how they're looking. I guess I'm still heavily identified with Chaos so it takes some getting used to.

Nice work CF (love the skelly head Chappy) Shouldn't you be plotting the downfall of a world though?? biggrin.gif

Err, thanks Phil. As mentioned above, yes of course Chaos! I'll be back to burning and pillaging soon enough... or is it pillaging THEN burning? (Always mix those two up).

Ah well you know those pilot types. They're always a bit on the edge. I think the gunner was thinking he wanted a Heretic to get a good view of some vows as he's getting cranked by the bumper.

Personally I love the great terrain those pics are taken on.

Wow.

Yea, it's hard to believe a heretic can make such nice Imperial scenery.

If they offer one, I think you're in for a best painted award at this tourney, these are stunning crisp models, well done

Gee, thanks a lot for the praise but this tournament usually features a fistfull of amazing painters. I just wanted to do my crusade in a way that I would like. I painted this army just for me, not to impress anyone else. For table top though, I do admit, I'm very happy so far.

Thank you very much for the kind words. It truly is motivating.

I finished another 3 Initiates last night. This brings my total to:

22 Initiates

6 Neo's

2 Speeders

1 Chappy

1 Champion

5 Tactical Terminators (which have been cut from my list)

1 Rhino w/Extra armour (which has been cut from my list)

Since December of '05.

I'm still working almost nightly on the army and an assembling stuff still as well. I'm re-working a dreadnaught, I just finished building 7 assault termies with the 'ruin' work on the bases and lots of Templar Forgeworld bling.

Man I don't know if I can make it. I also still have to paint:

- Dread

- Vindicator (forgeworld model)

- 7 Assault Termies

- 3 Chaplain Cenobytes.

Plus my chaos pals of old (see above) are calling for me with Medusa!
