Some Iron Warriors

Recommended Posts

Well, 'cause of time restraints, I did eventually abandon the NMM IW idea, and I thought it best to paint up the whole load of Iron Warriors I got, so out came the Mithril silver and washes. Got a few things done and will get more pretty quickly. :tu: Think I gotta reshoot the liutenant, the pic is kinda bad.

Lemme know whatcha think.

Weedy no gud Iron Beakies! :P

They're very groovy - the pale blue works well with the rusty steel tones. How could you have ever considered painting Iron Warrior with non-metallics? :tu:

I'm not sure about the squad's patchy brown base rims though .... they look a bit Goff. :tu:

I think you paint metallics better than most that's what I think :tu: . I'm always impressed with the finish you manage to achieve.

I hate painting metallics and you just make it look so easy :tu:

Gorgeous pred by the way....Oh and I concur with Lord R on SW under foot, Tut Tut a visit from from Russ's son's is on the cards :P

re you gonna make more soon?

Yes, an oblitterator and another squad is on the way at the moment. After they are done, I will either paint more squads(got 2 CCW squads as well), or I will start fiddling with the Daemon Prince.

Hmm, seems like a good idea, to put more Space pups on the bases. :tu: My trenches are ready...

Here's a left side view of the tank btw, omitted it in the first post, since it looks to be perhaps just slightly out of focus...

This is I think the most avesome IW i've seen since I played. Giving up with the NMM is not really reprochable with this kind of job. The predator is *gone out to shoot golly*, well the predator is just sublime, the squad is dynamic and good-looking. The only thing I could tell is that they look to flat, coulor-istically speaking, and you should maybe Highlight more the golden armor borders.

My eyes are just melting...

:eek :P whoooo......!!!!!!!

There are truly great Iron Warriors. My only problem is DAMN YOU for putting them up now as I just finish my own IWs for the UK GT heat 1.

Hummm... I supose I could fit another few models in my GT force ;)

I really like your Lt model & how he got the scope in his hands... could maybe do that for a sarg.

Would you care to give us a into on how you painted that silver effect.

Again great models :tu: could you post more once you have more

Thanks

Very nice minis. :eek

I think the weathering on the Predator is waay overdone, but besides that, it's cool.

Sweet idea using the Annihilator turret (w. 2 barrels), with an autocannon mounted instead. Looks ace.

Oh, and the headlights on the preddie looks dull.

The troopers are kick-:P

Thanks for the kind words guys, oblitterator and another squad should be up tomorrow I reckon. I'm thinking of naming the predator the "Istvaan pattern" in commemoration of the heroic deeds by the forces of chaos in that area ;)

Great work T! Now get back to working and lets see them at the Fanatic. You do have a week afterall

Looks bad, because I am 2 tanks short atm, looking for some fom of replacements, I don't really fancy using defilers... Tricky situation :D

Would you care to give us a into on how you painted that silver effect.

Not hard really, paint mithirl, ink like hell, and then do mithril highlights. Hey presto done. Guess it comes down to being able to judge when enough ink is enough :jaw:

Again great models thumbsup.gif could you post more once you have more rolleyes.gif
Definately.

Looks great, the pred could use some mud 'n dust IMHO.

Yeah, it would sorta be an idea, but I'm not sure, since it kinda gives the feel of a different zone battle. If it's more cityfightish, then there would be dust from debris basicly, not all tanks have to be caked in mud, and I kinda like the scratched worn, but still sorta clean look of it. Might try weathering on the next tank tho...

Now these chaos boys look like they've actually seen thousands upon thousands of years of endless combat!

Incredible work on the battle damage, and I truly love your flesh tones. You're a wonderful inspiration to us all, and I'm definitely saving a pic of that tank for reference on battle damage!

Cheers,

Lawrence.
