Woeppie
I'm starting a new army, which i called Knights Templar, yes, just like the guys from the past. Does anyone has any ideas for conversions which don't include the use of Black Templars sprues. I already converted me a chaplain, which i based on a chaos warrior, when i am entirlly glad i will add a pic of him here. But plzzzzzz help me get some cool conversion ideas. Here is some fluff that may help u come up with ideas: *Each squad numbers 9 marines, evein if they are led by a commander or chaplain. This is to refer to the first Knights Templar, who excisted only of 9 men. *I'm planning to make them like they used: with truck loads of clothes *They protect pelgrims on their sacred journey to visit every planet *They r all armed with close combat weapons,, excpet the scouts, which all have snipers(i already converted them from imperial guard + green stuff) *I want each squad to be let by a man who looks old: with a white beard and that kind of stuff, i based this on a ida i had last year, i then made a santa to go in my space marines army. Well i hope to get some help how to convert my troopers, librarian, and Land Raider Crusader(i only take this on because of the crusader part, my army or crusaders so..... ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86414-help-me-with-my-new-army/ Share on other sites
space wolf
instead of using black templar sprues...you can bring in more of the "knight" feel by incorporating plastics from the Warhammer "Britonians", or some stuff from Mordheim, perhaps even some stuff from deamonhunters? Just a thought.... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86414-help-me-with-my-new-army/#findComment-1000460 Share on other sites
Daeothar
Well, there's the WHFB Empire stuff to be used, they have Templars in their ranks. space wolf mentioned Brettonians, which are always a good source of knightly bitz and so is the Dark Angel range. Might I enquire as to why you do not want to use Black templar bitz? It would be an obvious source for you to draw from. Also, this subject is more of a PC&A thing than a Liber topic. Unless you want to discuss your chapter's fluff and their paintscheme some more? Mrph45
I would take the robed dark angel bosies and then use shields and items from the brettonian range to individualise them. Make each Sgt. look like the lord of his own band of knights that have similar heraldry. You could make bikers and use the White Scar bike leaders pole arm as a great cc weapon for your squad. hope this helps. Berevius_the_Justifier
Just a thought on the chapter name. Since there is already a "Templar" army ya might want to think about an alternative. Mebee the Tutonic Knights, Hospitallers, or Knights of (fill in planet name here). Though nothing wrong with Templars if thats where ya got yer heart set. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86414-help-me-with-my-new-army/#findComment-1005539 Share on other sites
