My Death Guard Commander

Recommended Posts

Hah! I love the drain, great touch

Painting looks really tight - if I had to criticise anything, I'd say the nurgling with the horn on the base doesn't really seem to "fit". The horn looks like it's popping out of rock, but he's on this sheet of metal.

...But that's minor. Great piece.

Yes, certainly.

Well, I've started giving as basecoat a full passage of Dark Angel Green.

After that I took my airbrush and gave it a second passagge of Catachan Green, carefully trying to not cover the deeper points of the miniature.

At this point starts the wet blending passagge. Blend the colour from the Catachan to the Commando Khaki passing through diffent levels of Bestial Brown and Snakebite Leather. The highlight in pure Bleached Bone

On the armour I gave several layers of Schorced Brown and Dark Flesh to give different level of shadow and at the same time obtain a good rust effect.

The metals: simple Boltgun metal with layers of the above mentioned two colours, Schorcha and Dark Flesh.

After that, add another layer of Blood Red and highlight the stains formed so with Fiery Orange and be proud of the result, a simple but realistic rust effect.

I use even a light passagge of oil color to give more precision to the shadows but I think this passagge is not strictly necessary.

At the end of the work give a final highlight of Mithril Silver.

I hope this can help you <_<

I've used a mix of Game (Vallejo) Colours and the traditional GW ones.
