princeofchaos
They look very well done, simple and effective. A little clean if you ask me, but I've seen cleaner, and they look suitably nurgly. Keep up the good work! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86708-deathguard/#findComment-1004162 Share on other sites
krax
They look like a good start but not finished. I think you need at least one more colour. Now theyre just green. The skin looks the same green as the armour and thus look unpainted in my eyes. I would like some yellow or red detail to brighten them up a bit. HarleyXJGuy
Right on I think they are way to green in the process of deciding what to do with them now. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86708-deathguard/#findComment-1004436 Share on other sites
Obliterator
What a disgusting green! Care to share the recipe :D ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86708-deathguard/#findComment-1004488 Share on other sites
magnum_opera
Whoa! I've never seen Death Guard done like that before - I can't say I don't like it. Very nice green, but you might want a different head for the Aspiring Champion - he's supposed to be very unique or whatever and he should be more distinctive. Why not change his head? Use a lot of different helmets - the 'hose helmets' look great. AkiraCho
hrm, your death guard seem too clean to me im sorry to say, try painting over a black undercoat, make use of inks/dry brushing to give your models some more depth, the green just seems too flat to me is all, good luck! HarleyXJGuy
Obliterator the green recipie is Camo Green base then Wonder Wash black. Drybrush Rotting Flesh over that. Wash the whole guy in a mix of one part mineral spirits and one part Minwax Polyshades Antique Walnut wood stain. Make sure to brush off the puddles before it drys. Then highligh with a 50 50 Rotting Flesh/Camo Green. You could do more highlights if you wanted as normal.ust make sure to give the stain a day or three to dry good. Oh yeah I am thinking of adding a deep bone color to the models to fix em up some what do you think? They to green at the moment.
