The Angelus Sanctus
An excellent piece of terrain there, nice work to the father son team :tu: Heh, looks alot more spiffy than the new CoD stuff coming out, at least for its overall appearance you can see and feel the time and effort put into it, whereas the CoD stuff is like putting a marine together... Warlock
Wow looks great. Did you use some prefabricated ruins? Two of them (the ones on the left in the first pic) look very similiar. RADU LYKAN
looks good, glad to see someone is managing to get some "real" scenery done, I keepo thinking I'll do it after the next squad/tank, still have nothing to speak of Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86713-ruined-building/#findComment-1004277 Share on other sites
Zgar
Great job done brother! Like the paint job a lot + the clever use of spues! My only concern is that you have maybe put too many eggs into one basket. You could have done 3-4 terrain pieces from the amount of material, which IMO would serve you better in games than one crowded piece. Believe if you place in the middle a 10 man tac squad, most of the troopers will have no LOS to fire at their enemies... :) P.S. could be well used for skirmish games thou! Chaoswolf
Very nice!! I'd love to play on something like that. Good job roping your dad into the hobby as well! ^_^ I'm working on doing the reverse with my 2 boys, but they're both still a bit young (8 &9) so we play warhammer light. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86713-ruined-building/#findComment-1004510 Share on other sites
gowestover
Very Nice. Great use of drybrushing and addition cool details like the barricades and barbed wire. This would make a cool objective or strategic feature. You've obviously used lots of imagination when putting this piece together. Nidhogg_Rider
I'd just have to chuck a Frag onto them ammo crates and everyone in the building would be dead ^_^. Ignores morale, target priority, stuff like that. I basically just getting them to move and shoot and start learning the rudiments of tactics. stayeatingpaint
thanks for the kind words everyone, but yeah we will be making more scenery and thanks for the idea Arbites_Augmentented unfortunately Games Day LA was over quite awhile ago, that is where i got the runined building, ammo crates, etc. from what age does the Young Bloods comp. end? ill most likely enter it next year model the Primarch of the Iron Warriors Perturabo with a 6 man squad of Iron Warriors and dead Imperial Fists eveywhere, but the thing is i wouldnt want to glue the Iron Warriors and Perturabo so i could still use it for the City Fight board we're making Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86713-ruined-building/#findComment-1005492 Share on other sites
alea acta est
i love it you guys did a awesome job. To bad my dad holds grudges. dosent help me with anything. One honest mistake and its held against you forever.... only problems i have is that its too good. Will the two of you be able to easily recreate 8 more buildings at that standard? If so its going to be a great table. Only other problem is the sprue im just not digging. Its a good use its just that i can tell its sprue. Make it more rough and ruined. the third and fourth picture from the end kinda look like a LEGO pile. get trid of those curved edges and rough the check out of it. thats going to be one smashing diorama. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86713-ruined-building/#findComment-1005498 Share on other sites
