Nicorex Posted May 13, 2006 Share Posted May 13, 2006 Here are the 2 newest greatist creations for my army! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/Nic...es/DSCN0537.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/Nic...es/DSCN0536.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/Nic...es/DSCN0535.jpg hehehehe I made thes for 4 reasons. 1) I wanted to keep the bases in theme as mush as possible 2) I was out of brass rod, so I used some very strong wire for the flying pegs, with the weight of the speeders on them they wiggled alot and I wanted to make sure they stay as straight as possible lest a speeder fall over. 3) I really hate looking at the pegs/rods people use to make there stuff look like its flying. :) 4) I was Bored! Overall, nice outcome. Personally, I'm still trying to work out a magnetized, hovering base for my speeder. No pegs at all! Yay! Nevertheless, good presentation. It would be a matter of the speeder slipping off the magnetic cushion and falling 4-6 inches straight to the tabletop. However, if a length of fishing line were used to keep it stabilised, there would be much less chance of it dropping, I believe. Anyway, that's my goal. So something I take quit highly into consideration is transportablity. Yes my new army wont be as easy as my Word bearers. But I can get them into a single Sabot Army transport. My real concern with your magnet bases is not falling over on the table, but falling to the floor as you are going to your next game and/or some child going 'OHHHHH thats neat-o can I hold it ?" as they pull it from your hands to se how far it will fly if they throw it as hard as they can. :rolleyes: :P Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
