rabblerouser
Sometimes if you sand with a file or scrape with the back of a knife, you leave behind a trail of "fuzzy" plastic bits that cling to the plastic piece What do you use to remove this? Brother Gothard
I use my iron lungs and blow hard on them. Seriously. Either your knife isn't sharp enough, or you need to exercise more to get stronger lungs. It's more likely to be the first one - the dull knife. Lord_Maggot
I have the same problem even with a new knife blade. My solution is an old tooth brush I have handy. Quick scrub and it's cleaned up real easy. Hope it helps :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86874-removing-the-fuzzies/#findComment-1006007 Share on other sites

mario
See above plus: - Airbrush (without paint) - water but you need to dry the minature later - the tip of your modeling knife - sculpting tools - a bit of green stuff on a stick (it's sticky) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/86874-removing-the-fuzzies/#findComment-1006027 Share on other sites
marcus
If my lungs are not up to the job, I have a canister of air spray with a little straw in the nozzle, gets rid of most unwanted bits of plastic pretty quick :D . ionfish
I find the following process works well for both metal and plastic miniatures. 1) Clean the flash etc. off the miniature with a sharp knife or scalpel and needle files. Make sure you clean the files regularly or they'll get clogged and won't do their job properly. 2) A bit of abrasive cloth will give you a smoother finish. 3) Brush off any dust with a toothbrush (you can get cheap ones at your local supermarket). 4) Wash the miniature in warm water, scrubbing it with a clean toothbrush (i.e. not the same one you've just used to remove the dust). 5) Let it dry thoroughly before doing anything else with it. Hairdryers help. And there you have it: a smooth, clean miniature free of gribbly bits and ready for priming. MaimKillBurn
I would usually just pick away at the plastic fuzzies with a small knife if they're in a tight spot. Other than this, as mentioned before, I'd just blow all the fuzzies off. I know what you mean, it's especially fuzzy for me when I file plastic  . Another thing you might consider is taking a piece of paper and cupping the edge to make a spoon type tool for getting into those nasty spots chalked with fuzz (such as between an arm and a shoulder pad).
