sockmonkeymurder
Majority GW parts, eh? Nothing saying which parts exactly have to be the GW parts. With the new release of the "urban basing" material, which includes quite a bit of different gravel, I think you might have an answer to this dilemma. Just make whatever scratch built drop pod you want. Now base it. The base needs to be big enough to pile on tons of official GW basing material, possibly some Chaos Marine casualties modelled into the base, what have you. Use some spools of razor wire. Use some sprue. Use some left over ruined building from the new City of Death sets, whatever. I don't know what they consider when they say 50?, majority, whatever, but I think you could argue the case. You are, in making such a model, employing material that you payed them for. Does it matter if it's an official GW stormbolter? Why can't a spare necron model you have laying around (that you payed them for) being, say, crushed under one of the opened hatches of your scratch built DP count toward "majority of parts"? Warlock
I think it's a little strange to publish a tutorial with templates (i have the german WD with those templates in front of me) and then tell those people who build a drop pod with their instructions that they can't use it in a GT. Grey Knight
If anyone would like the french Drop pod instructions i do beleive i have them saved on my external memory, i also mailed them to a few BnC members. Would it be legal to make one out of cardboard, stick some aquillas on it, paint it chapter colours and use it in tourneys? Lemmingspawn
It's always funny to see this topic, coz when it comes to drop pods, GW doesn't have an official model to represent it. Forgeworld does. And from what I understand, Forgeworld models and rules aren't necessarily accepted at all GW tournies.... ldog1765
I think that GT rule is no good. I just finished making 9 drop pods from scratch build templates in found on the internet. They look just like the FW ones and are often mistaken for them. I get a lot a compliments. I would buy a couple of the GW ones if they ever make them.
