uncleharoldo
Hey guys Well it has been ages since I have posted up some of my models on here mainly because I havent been painting marines lately. However the lure of nurgle has got to me. Anyhow, here are some WIP shots of my test scheme for my Deathguard. Tell me what you think. Also suggestions of the trim colour would be good. I was thinking catachan green and gbe it a go but it blends in too much with the armour. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/Big_WIlly_Style/Death%20Guard/dg.jpg I am trying to avoid the guts everywhere and silly nurgle feel and go for something a bit more subtle in the modelling side of things but (hopefully) bringing out the nurgle essence in the painting. C&C is most welcome. I am trying to improve my painting and GS skills with this army, so please be harsh on my work. therick
i like it :D i'm not to keen on the guts every where either but this looks promising. i love the plate of armour on the belly, is that GS? and the colour is good, some grey and green really looks rotting. the scratches look like the ones Kappel uses, did you see his tutoriol? anyways great job, can't wait to see him finished. the rick Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87604-deathguard-asp-champion-wip/#findComment-1011789 Share on other sites
uncleharoldo
Thanks for the comments mate  Not sure who Kappel is, but I read an article on CMON about painting on fake notches into blades, and just applied that to the armour. Also, yeah, that is GS over the belly, pretty simple really. uncleharoldo
Ok, I have done more work on him. Tell me what you think of the catachan green for the trims. I am not 100% sure on it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/Big_WIlly_Style/Death%20Guard/dg008.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v295/Big_WIlly_Style/Death%20Guard/dg009.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87604-deathguard-asp-champion-wip/#findComment-1012408 Share on other sites
Marshal Veq
This guy looks really promising but the green isn't blending too good on the model. Try getting it to blend into the grey and you'll have it done great. Veq. khornedog
i agree with marshal veq. the green trim doesn't look so hot, but on the plus side the rest is spectacular. i'd paint the trim in a color similar to whats on the skull shoulder pad, but darker/dirtier. Also that head is really bothering me. it looks way too healthy. i'd try some of the heads from the WHFB zombies if i were you. but then again that may not be the looks you are going for ,and i have never liked the marauder heads anyway so whatever. uncleharoldo
Ahhh, never even thought to do it bone, thanks for the suggestion, I think it will work well. I still gotta do a bit more work on him like on the head to make him look a bit more sickly. Thanks for the comments fellas. uncleharoldo
Ok, yeah, same concept basically, although I haven't done the black line, or the shading of the brown. Might go and go that though, cheers. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87604-deathguard-asp-champion-wip/#findComment-1012518 Share on other sites
