Kuh Tathor
Thought I'd post an image of the miscasting to show that I am not whinning  , even in the third torso the casting is too thin to use. http://www.beastmen.f9.co.uk/various/Painting/DeathGuard/DeathGuard_Forgeworld.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87815-fw-red-scorpion-veteran-review/page/2/#findComment-1020150 Share on other sites
Ahmato
Pick up the phone, punch the FW number in, Shout a lot, then send these off to get replaced. Thats what I'd do. Usually works wonders, too. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87815-fw-red-scorpion-veteran-review/page/2/#findComment-1020151 Share on other sites
Hertz
on similar topic, have any one else than noticed the bad casting on some regular GW stuff too? I got some shrinkage on stuff, and a big chunk of armour on a armoured horse missing, and so on... I do however feel sorry for anyone that gets any casted after me in the same mold as one of the torsos had a fairly sizable chunk of the mold stuck on it still. OUCH! hope they notice that! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87815-fw-red-scorpion-veteran-review/page/2/#findComment-1020158 Share on other sites

marcus
Hmm i'm a little worried about the Culln my friend is getting me for my birthday now. My experience with FW is generally good i've had sw rhino doors and the sw termie kits both in great nick, however yesterday my MKIV dread arrived. The main body is beautiful but the dccw arm (the bit I was looking forward to most  ) is in a shocking state and will need replacing. It has a hole in one part a mould line that is over 3mm thick and feels like it's had a good couple of coats of roughcoat applied to it, it's so bobbly. I've also been waiting three weeks for it. As buying experiences go it has been less than satifactory. The upside is I know they will replace it with a good one. Lucky i'm the patient type. ++ spoke to forgeworld today and the new arm is in the post, I get to keep the old one. The guy on the phone even suggested using it as part of a base. Luckily the claws are useable so I might try some conversions with them. Hat's off to FW they didn't argue the point or get annoyed they just got it sorted. There are not many companies that have aftersales like it.++ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87815-fw-red-scorpion-veteran-review/page/2/#findComment-1020459 Share on other sites
-Q-
on similar topic, have any one else than noticed the bad casting on some regular GW stuff too?I had some miscast metal a while back. Called GW, no problem they sent me out new parts... in a padded envelope... got to my house all bent up and one part flattened out. I just sighed and laughed. I guess they tried? -_- Any miscasts in blisters I just took back to the local GW which swapped them out no problem at all. Forgeworld makes me sad. Pleasuredome
Well , I am doing commissions for 4 years now , mostly 40K working with lots of Forgeworld stuff . Quality is on the average bad , very inovative and well designed , but bad casts ore common. Had whole bunch of chapter specific doors that did'nt fit , as well as many extra armour kits where the standard GW Rhino doors where to big. It's a pain in the a.... . Dont ever buy a Thunderhawk , there are better ways to spend without having a hard time assembling This one was done for a client , 15 hours assembling , 12 hours painting .. http://www.figuraobscura.com/festung/th3.JPG Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87815-fw-red-scorpion-veteran-review/page/2/#findComment-1020565 Share on other sites
-Q-
Eh, it takes me 15 hours just to assemble a Marine -_- Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/87815-fw-red-scorpion-veteran-review/page/2/#findComment-1020566 Share on other sites
st.germaine
My wife ordered mine on the 31st of May and they arrived the day before yesterday. I haven't opened them yet as they're for my daughters to give to me for Father's Day so I can't comment on the quality yet. I also ordered IA 5 so hopefully that'll arrive by Friday week (I'm naieve like that...) Y'he Sha'is
I've had really good luck with FW. I've ordered some BT Term shoulder pads, LRC/Rhino doors, and some BT combat shields. All were very nice, but every one was warped a bit, and incredibly brittle (to my sadness). They came to the use in about 3 weeks. If you are patient enough, you can bend them back with hot water... most of the time. The only problems I've had were with my tau models (can I say Tau on here, or will I get shot... twice?), and the after-sale service of FW is ridiculously good. New shipment without any problems. I wonder if that is why everything costs twice as much as it should...
