[UPDATED] Spacemarine angel

Thank you for your comments!

I had quite a dilema how to incorporate both wings and backpack. My solution is that the wings will sit under the backpack. There are some extra space between his back and the backpack so the wings can move freely. What do you think?

There where no room for the exhausts.... :cuss But the wings will probably provide enough cooling :)

Very well done with the GS dude. I like that backpack being behind the wing-join. Using the plastic wings should make the model on heck of a lot lighter than trying the same thing with metal wings. I especially like the fact that you deepened the series of holes on top of the backback, and added a larger central exhaust port. Losing a couple of the side vents isn't a problem with the larger central port and wing action in flight. And you're concidering a whole 10-man squad? Dude, that would so rock. I bow humbly before your creative use of WFB bits for 40K units, and wish I had the GS skills to 'nick' this idea for my Shadow Hawks chapter army.

Chose your colors well, to present the wings to maximum effect and frame the rest of the model with. I would suggest white, off-white, at least 3 tones of grey, and a light black inking to bring out all that lovely detail. As for the model itself, I'd try to contrast as much as possible to highlight the wings and use the wings to highlight the model... If you HAVE to have 'white' robes, make sure to use off-white, a couple tones of cream, and light grey to shade things well against the wings. Also, if you just HAVE to go white robes, make the armor some high contrast color, such as your chapter's colors (which would tie him in with the chapter as a whole), red purity seals, parchment ribbons, green and red grenades, NMM swords, etc.

Just my thoughts and suggestions. Take 'em or leave 'em... this is forums after all.

nice work. Though the wings look a bit big for the model, you may be able to fix this by putting it on a 40mm base, or beefing up it's armour (maybe with more robes, black templar style), it would look mean on a table as a squad with others like it (especially if on a 40mm base)

nice conversion !

im really looking forward to see the final base ..

a whole troop of this kind ... sick :)

AHH!! why is it i write a huge amount of fluff for this chapter and not many people like the idea.

But as soon as someone makes a model its good?

MAKE UP YOUR MIND PEOPLE!!
