flakm0nkey
hey guys this is my first attempt at a DIY chapter and i hope im goin in the right direction. please keep in mind that this is just random fluff ideas that popped in my head and i typed em out. i dont even know the origin of them yet cuz i dont know all the major history of the imperium and dont have anything solid to base em on, so i put down all i could about the chapter that didnt require any research. Chapter Name: Celestial Paladins Progenitor Legion: Imperial Fists Primarch: Rogal Dorn Home World: Tyria Founding: Current Chapter Master: Brother Captain Octavious the Phoenix Chapter Strength: 10 crusade companies, 1000 Battlebrothers total Geneseed: Altered Imperial Fists geneseed (extremely stable) Traits Advantages: zealous, take the fight to them blessed be the warriors disadvantages: eye to eye Induction When new members are inducted into the chapter, the marine creation process takes place in the Fedei Incubatum located inside the chapter's fortress monestary on Tyria. In this ritualistic happening the inductees are marked by a cross eched into both feet and on either hand by the crusade's master chaplain. They are then read faith and service oaths while they are injected with the chapters geneseed. Finally the initiates are taken to solitary chambers where they are left until the process is complete. While in the chamber, the initiate kneels as he is showerd with oils. These oils, which are geneseed growth stimulents, seep into the cross shaped incisions on the hands and feet of the marine. Within hours they are put into a sleep state in which time the growth process can begin. Subliminal messaging is commed into the chamber and is used to mentally condition the marine and to further stimulate gene seed growth. Toward the end of the growth cycle the still sleeping initiate is fitted with his black carapace implants. After seven years the slow process is complete, and the initiate emerges from his chamber as a full battlebrother. Physical Traits During his transformation, the initiate is showered in an oil while held in his chamber of solitude. This ingenius chemical is actually a sophistcated geneseed growth hormone that gets into the bloodstream via cross shaped incisions on the hands and feet of the soon-to-be marine. It is also a powerfull tranquilizer which renders the marine in a sleep state while his organ growth process can begin. This substance is responsable for the Celestial Paladin's mental and physical properties, and contains cells from all the organs that a marine needs to make him a super human. These cells grow over a seven year period, leaving only the black carapace implant to be done manually. Due to the fact that the geneseed is altered, certain organs are made to be superior while others are rendered useless. This is aparrent in the lack of a Sus-an Membrane, which allows the marine to put himself into a catotonic state to aid him in dealing with physical trauma. However, the growth stimulent alters and ultimately enhances the section of the brain in charge of hand/eye coordination, making the Celestial Paladins skilled, even more so than a hardened space marine, in the art of close quarters combat, particularly the use of a sword. This is apparent in the chapter by tactical squads often training with pistols and swords as opposed to the holy bolter. Homeworld Tyria is an agri-world filled with lush woodland areas, thick forests, vast mountain ranges and small deserts, situated on large plots of land which are sectioned by the planets 3 oceans. Most of the world is uninhabited due to harsh living conditions on this seemingly forgiving and peacfull planet. The major forests are ruled by hostile wildlife and feral beasts, the desserts are subject to sporadic and violent sand storms, and the huge oceans are home for a number of hideous serpentine monstrosities. As with most imperial worlds, the planet is scarred by countless centeries of war, which only helps to fuel the dispair of the planet's cruel irony. The inhabitants of the planet are situated in large colonies dotted along the northern side of the planet's massive surface area. These colonies are populated by 2 to 3 thousand imperial citizens who live in constant fear of the environment that they so reluctantly live in. This dismal reality is not true to the area around the Glimmerstone Mountain range, which resinates a constant golden glow that can be seen anywhere from the northern hemisphere of Tyria. This marval of nature is seen as an icon of hope to the people of Tyria who look upon this glorious beakon of light as the emperor's gaze keeping an ever-watchfull eye on them. They also look to the Celestial Paladins for protection against the dangers of the planet. In each of the colonies on Tyria, the Celestial Paladins have established small chapels of light that serve as a means of security to the people of the planet, and a means of recruitment for the Celestial Paladins who choose only the most zealous and able men, with the courage to live in these cruel conditions. The Celestial Paladins' fortress monestary is located on the highest summet of the Glimmerstone Mountains, and is seen as a lasting icon of hope and the promise of a better future. well thats all i got as you can tell i need a founding so could someone suggest one? and cane someone give me a blank space marine template that i could use to show the colour scheme and symbol? thaks guys for dorm FM Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/88886-celestial-paladins/ Share on other sites
Severus6
Read through this twice and was wondering, how are you going to show that your Marines are better than other Chapters. Are you going to use the traits, come up with something different,...? I have no issues with the geneseed hormone enhancer,...while the basic process remains the same, each Chapter has a unique way of doing buisness with their inducted initiates, ie; SW, BA, etc,...What I would suggest is that the chemical process does not speed up the creation of the Marine (the Empire has lost that ability) and simply say that it increases the initiates ability to recieve the geneseed. That or you could say that based on this process your Chapter has a higher hand / eye coordination factor (which you have pointed out) thus the Chapter has a high percentage of Assault troops, which can easily be shown with the trait system. Just a few thoughts, hope they help. Severus6 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/88886-celestial-paladins/#findComment-1022307 Share on other sites
Zhivago
Status: Codex Chapter Chapter Strength: 6 battle companies 1200 Battlebrothers total Oxymoron. :) Codex dictates chapters to be 10 companies 100 strong each, though support staff and such increases the amount of marines tad over 1000. Also, if all companies are battle companies, where the reserves come from ? Where are scout trained. (and why everybody wants to go over the limit of 1000) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/88886-celestial-paladins/#findComment-1022319 Share on other sites
flakm0nkey
ok guys i edited the post i scrapped the lightweight bone structure idea i altered the chapter's battle company organization changed the time it takes to make the marines i have changed them from a codex chapter to a notable divergence chapter with the following traits advantage: take the fight to them, blessed be the warriors disadvantage: eye to eye hope this helps a little could any one give me a few ideas, and a probable founding? thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/88886-celestial-paladins/#findComment-1022686 Share on other sites
Race Bannon
Neat read ... With a perfect number of 1000 (Codex standard) then I would suggest your chapter is brand new. So 26th Founding. BUT, since your development program produces a full battle brother in 1/9 the normal time, then you could replenish the ranks relatively quickly. So the founding could be anything after the 2nd. BUT BUT, wouldn't your process be desired by the Adeptus Mechanicus? If the Chpater refused to surrender the methodology then I am sure they would be under investigation for going against the tried and true method used for several millennia. SO, your induction process should be VERY new. 26th Founding ... maybe 25th. News does not travel fast in the Imperium, unless it is BIG news. --- Do you have Scouts? Is the induction process a by-pass to the standard pedagogy? --- This is apparent in the chapter by tactical squads often training with pistols and swords as opposed to the holy bolter. It's not that holy if you eschew using it. I would reword the sentence or at least take out "holy". --- ... the Glimmerstone Mountain range, which resinates a constant golden glow that can be seen anywhere from the northern hemisphere of Tyria. This marval of nature is seen as an icon of hope to the people of Tyria who look upon this glorious beakon of light as the emperor's gaze keeping an ever-watchfull eye on them. The Celestial Paladins' fortress monestary is located on the highest summet of the Glimmerstone Mountains, and is seen as a lasting icon of hope and the promise of a better future. Mountains are very lasting. I would change one of the two from being an "icon of hope". Maybe the Mountains "marvel" is inspirational or devotional? Proof that the God-Emperor's eyes are watching over Tyria personnally? Just a few things that came to my mind. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/88886-celestial-paladins/#findComment-1024067 Share on other sites
