Here are the only pics I have of my marines. Not the best, but I thought they were good at the time! ;)

Yeah, sorry, I'm looking for loyalists.

Raygun, what you talkin' 'bout foo!? Those look great, at least from what I can see. How did you do your orange?

haha! Thanks! :tu: I've never been fond of tooting my own horn. But I appreciate the compliments.

I haven't painted orange in a long time, but I had different techniques.

The EC and the Terminator Captain were primed white. I basecoated with Blazing Orange and then washed with very dilute chestnut ink. I then reapplied Blazing Orange, keeping the inked areas in the recesses. I added Sunburst Yellow to Blazing Orange and used successive highlights until it was pure Sunburst Yellow. I, then, diluted Blazing Orange and glazed over the armor.

The marine was more of an experiment and I wish I had starker (is that even a word?) highlights. They have been washed out in the photo. Again, this guy was primed white. I bought a bottle of Delta Ceramcoat "Pumpkin" or "Pumpkin Orange" at a local hobby store (Michael's). It's a brownish orange. I'm sure you can achieve the same color by mixing a little Bestial Brown to Blazing orange.

It was highlighted with Blazing Orange, Delta Ceramcoat "Apricot", and finally Sunburst Yellow. It's a richer orange color, but it's a bit of a pain since the pigmentation of DC paints is very low and I'm impatient  .

Hope it helps.

Quality of the first two pics is less than desired due to bad lighting (making the appear pics too red) but here's one with natural sunlight, which is marginally better:

And here's the recipy for my orange:

Undercoat: Black

Basecoat: Vomit Brown (2 thin coats)

Coat: Blazing Orange, x2

Highlight: Mixing up to pure Fiery Orange (about 3 layers/blends)

Highlight: up to Golden Yellow (about 2 layers/blends)

Highlight: White (only the very highest tips)

And welcome to the orange league...

Nice, I like your orange. Those are some good looking models. I was looking on your site and I like the whole idea behind your chapter. Great freehand as well.

I think I will try out yourguy's techniques and mix and match to see what I like. Thanks a lot for all of the responses!
