So, what do you think? C&C appreciated

Excellent work there Jansuh, very well done

The painted models look fantastic, and very nicely done and the WIP stuff is coming along great. Your GS skills look very nice, so well done on that :)

Lookin forward to seeing the rest get painted up! ;)

they look great, the models are well modelled and your GS skills are pretty great. I love the effort that has gone into each base, it really helps bring the army together as a whole. for the paintjobs id say theyve come out well, each individual model doesnt look amazing up close, but as a whole the army looks damn nice, and is very impressive.

one or two things you might consider doing if you have time. would be on sergeant nathanial id go over the robe (skirt:P) around the hed, there appears to be some green on there.

although i dont personally do it id also consider going over faces with a very watered down flesh wash to add a little depth to them. you could even go over armour with a thinned down green wash if you have the ink available. these two things i think would really make the army look ten times better (I.E. simply amazing as theyre already great)

so yea the army is looking great and I cant wait to see the rest done (especially the terminator squad)

wow, those look great! really great army!

you should get more Ravenwing units, I say, but thats just me talking

the faces are, while detailed, lacking in depth, they dont look alive.. but that have already been said.

the plastic torso on your WIP chaplain, where are it from??

good done, mate! :)

Im going to take a random stab in the dark that the plastic torso for the Chaplain is from the BT 'upgrade' box with the BT iconography removed.

I didnt notice it at first, but the various bits and pieces used for the Chapie are excellent. Might have to grab some Asmodai models in the next few months just for bits

Thanks for all the kind words guys :)

- As for the faces: They look more "alive" in real life. There's just too much light on it. I did gave them washes, but highlighted afterwards.

- The green on the robe is also almost invisible irl. Keep in mind the actual models are about 3 times smaller then the pics ;)

- Blindhamster, you've got it right, it was my idea to paint each model on my personal TTQ-level, so I can paint an army WITHIN a year ;). I spend around 2-3 hours per model, including basing and decalling.

- Hertz, when our new codex comes out next year, I'm planning to do an RW army, so, you'll have to wait ;)

- The Angelus Sanctus, beware! It took me almost 2 hours to cut up that model for those cool bitz!

Keep it coming!

(It's really cool that I get these nice comments, it boosts inspiration :))

Given the excellent quality of your work Jansuh, it would be somewhat rude NOT to complement you for the time and effort you have put into them. Given the time you put into each model, it really shows and pays off very well :)

Ive also just realised something, your marines like to point :)

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing when I was scrolling down this thread :)

Well, I have 1 ravenwing dude pointing, one normal sarge pointing, one assault sarge pointing, and the chaplain and terminator pointing with guns.. I guess my marines are kind of stupid. "Shoot THOSE, not the others!"

And thanks again!

( I just assembled the last 2 devastator marines for this army.. I'll undercoat the last tactical squad tomorrow)

Nice work mate! Very good army  My only real crit are on some of the faces. The paint looks a bit thick, but I guess it cant be helped now. Just thin them out a bit more and theyll look a lot better :D Cant wait to see that Chappie painted up!

-Kaldoth

Thanks for the comments guys!

As for the faces (again) :

The paint IS thinned (I always thin my paint) and it looks way better irl, not perfect, I'm still practicing on my faces..

I didn't knew my bases were so impressive  I just did some cheap hobby-glue on the bases and dipped them in static grass.

In terms of the bases for the Terminators, i take it all you did was appropriately cut out lil tiles from plasticard and glue them on?

Ive been trying to do a similar technique for my SoB, but the way ive been doing it hasnt been hitting the look ive wanted and ive thought about re-doing the method.

That's exactly how I did it.

However, to make it look nicer, make sure all of the tiles are the same size. I also damaged/broken them.

The entire army has "ruin" stuff on their bases (well, about 50%) and I wanted something special for the terminators.

* I just undercoated tactical squad #3 *

Ive also tried to ruin them as well, but not to the same level as you have done with your method (lack of good control in mine i guess). Might have to see if GW ever made a bag with the non slotted bases for my Sisters as covering up the slot ones is a pain already.

Slottabases are indeed a pain in the butt to work with. My sergeants have slottebases, and 3 of them are on top of a bigger tile (the one form the ruin-sprues) I had to cut and fit it all..

@ ezeckial:Thanks

Excellent. You have the same display cabinet as me! :P

I would only suggets taking a little more time on the green highlights. Keep them real thin and minimal. Almost not noticable. Do this only in day light or under a daylight lamp.

Ask yourself: Are my brushes holding me back?

If so may be you should think about Windsor Series 7s, there are plenty of topics about this so do a searchy.

Excellent work!
