mario
Too dark for what? Do you use the ink as a basecoat, for washing, to add shine, or what exactly? A general tip if an ink is too dark. Use normal paint and thin that. If you mix ink with normal paint then you will lose the inks properties after you add a high amount of normal paint. So you could add a bit of white if you want but that would probably not work as expected. Rather get some purple paint mix it with some grey or white and thin that to a consistency that makes glazes possible. Freakiq
Add water until it's got just a small tint of purple, then apply several times until it looks good. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/89597-lighten-up-inks/#findComment-1030407 Share on other sites
Zgar
Thin it down more... simple as that. For very thin ink washes (e.g. on faces) I use an almost see thru ink/water mix in a ratio of approx 1:20 ink:water... Don't forget to add a tiny bit of dish wash to the mix to brak the surface tenstion :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/89597-lighten-up-inks/#findComment-1030427 Share on other sites
