Alchemist Conversion

Recommended Posts

Here's the situation. In my DIY Chapter, Librarians, Commanders, Tech marines and Chaplains are alchemists. They use alchemy to create the same effects as these marine, basically, I have a model, call it an Alchemist, but it counts as a Librarian. So far I have created an Alchemist Librarian, but I am currently using a normal Chaplain and commander.

For years now, I have had a twin lightening claws commander with a jump pack as a main leader in my forces, and now I would like to convert an alchemist to represent this model.

I am thinking of buying this Sauron model, from the LotR range http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront/st...4103&orignav=16. I am unsure what to do for the jump pack, other than having an actual jump pack, and I would like as many suggestions as possible as to how I can create a Commander Alchemist. Thanks.

PS - I don't want to sound rude, but I do not want posts about how people feel Alchemist marines would not work.

the sauron model is much taller than most of the 40k range infantry models (he's about 3" from head to toe), so he might be a bit out of scale to the rest of the army.

you might want to look at some of the inquisitors or inquisitor retinue models, perhaps for something robed, and use bits from the command squad sprue (the apothecary's vials and such) or the Fabius Bile model or the like to add to them.

not certain the exact "alchemist" look you're going for, but the idea sounds cool!

maybe Inq coatez(spelling? i mean the one with the hammer) with normal sized fists with flaming swords, this would fit the alchemy feel and would justify a reroll to wound, and most importantly, it would look...

 ;) :o  :cuss :)

ie: i have mad emyself drool imagining the model

PS-i think the new calgar head witth the bionic eye turned into a monacle would look cool

mmm... monacle

What about the LotR castellans?

or maybe even Sauran himself (as the necromancer). I'm not sure on the scale of this model... It would also go well with a jump pack...

Speaking of Alchemist. The Full Metal Alchemist just started on Adult Swim.

Anyway, back to the idea. I like the thought gives me some inspiration for my Inquisitor. I would suggest using the new Inquisitor model from Forgeword, perhaps change the hands and do some nice painting of runes and stuff. Good luck, look foreward to seeing pics.

Cheers,

MCA.

Thanks. I'm not too concerned about him being a little big, I want him to stand out and look "hard" and mean, but then again I do not want him to be too big...

You guys were aware I meant the necromancer model? If not I am sorry.

I didn't actually look at the link until after I posted :o :) :P so I assumed you meant the original Sauron but still I stand with my opinion after seeing a few painted ones at selected stores selling GW products (GW itself being a prime example ^_^ ), besides he is on a 40mm base which also suggests he's not a baby.

Another idea is this guy from forge world http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/inqlok.htm.

He looks Alchemist like, but I'd give him a much bigger sword, a lot bigger, think Final Fantasy VII. The problem is, what would be an appropriate alchemised jump pack? I tend to think along the lines of wings, but that seems a bit too Chaosy.
