1500 points in 6 days!

zbo

Recommended Posts

Well Me and 2 freinds have taken in upon overselves to paint, 1500 points worth of miniatures in 6 days.

Crazy, tell me about it.

We plan to start on the 29th, so that we can get all our exams out of the way. Were not planning any conversions before hand so that we all are they when things get decided. Were also not making an army list first, so that me make some cool models rather then just painting an army.

The basic idea behind the army, is a company of 'Host of Ares' was lost on a planet traped in a warp storm, now 1000 years later, thier back and ready to dish the pain. Thier all really Knightly but Damaged, aka broken armour ect....

The paint scheme is yet undecided but at the moment it looks like it will be a very dark green, much like dark angels.

Any tips on being able to get this done in time?

Check out this link, it's a good read and helps quite a bit.

I think a dark green with dark grey added in would look good, it would also help differentiate from the Dark Angels.

What do you mean by drak grey added? do you mean added into the green? Or added to the colour scheme? We'd planned to add in my gold too just to break it up. Also the conversions should hopefully make it look differnt

Cheers for that articel, it was really help full. Not long till we start

Yeah, stop posting and start painting :P !

  • if you need to mix paints, have them pre-mixed in an empty pot.
  • look for a color scheme that gives you decent results with a minimum of effort (like Shining Gold with a Brown Ink wash for golds, Boltgun Metal and a Black Ink wash for metals). Don't shy away from inks  .
  • use colors with a decent coverage, like DA Green, Ultramarines Blue, Chaos Black, ... . If you're trying yellow or a similar color you won't even have the basecoats ready in 6 days :tu: .
  • airbrush on your armour color.
