Lemariont
Hello Battle brothers Here I write my tutorial about scouts and one question... Wich symbol do you paint? DA symbol in left but in right??? 10th company have the line symbol? TUTORIAL: 1. To clear flashes and to file. 2. To beat to the pedestal. 3. To decorate the pedestal. 4. To print with spray black, that soon the painting takes better. A light layer. 5. Layer 50%, black base black chaos and 50% water, is so that it is left a layer uniform, without eating the details and arrives at the parts that spray has not been able to cover. Scout and Veteran Sergeant Scout with Power fist. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/exploradores/explorador1a.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y104/Lemariont/exploradores/sgto_explorador.jpg 6. Cluracan
I'm in a similar position to you, I have my Scouts all painted up to a decent gaming standard (I think anyway) but not sure what symbols to use on the shoulderpads For now, I have used the decals that came with the boxed set for the DA symbol on the left pad, as you can see from my picture, with the right pad left blank for now. But I'm not that keen on the DA decal for scouts, so may go back and make something out of green-stuff when I have the time http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g68/cluracan_photos/Scouts-1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90131-wip-scouts-da/#findComment-1036728 Share on other sites
GabrielStrom
I like the White Scars philosphy of scout markings in giving them no insignia until the join the ranks of the battle or reserve companies, so my idea is simply painting the DA symbol on the left shoulder pad (from the models POV) and nothing on the other. If you did want to paint something on the right pad, I'd make it the company number 10. Cloud Runner
I tend to put the chapter badge on the models left shoulder, and a squad number on the right. It helps to differentiate units mid-game, and in a company of scouts you'd still have the squads numbered IMO so that the chapter can easily identify which units have room for fresh recruits. Brother Lysander
I'd just paint on a number to represent what squad they are in the 10th company. BL Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90131-wip-scouts-da/#findComment-1036745 Share on other sites
Grand Master Belial
I'd just paint on a number to represent what squad they are in the 10th company. BL I'll second this one. The 10th DA Company does not have a Company symbol. So they paint their squad number on the marine's right shoulder pad. absolon
If you go back to the old space hulk art and stories, Dark Angel Souts had a unwinged dagger in the left shoulder pad. I always like the idea that they had yet to earn thier wings.
