bighatdino
I've been working on my army of BTs/DIY Crusaders of Dorn (the DIY version allows me to use the C:SM and therefore snipers and proper scouts) for a while now, and decided that I needed to include some figures with character. I'm also trying to do some nice playful bases suitable for use in Cities of Death (they've yet to have and sand added to them, though). This is them so far http://www.bighatdino.co.uk/wh40k/060622-wipfull.jpg From left to right: Marshal/Chapter Master Einstadt; Vet Sgt Grumann; Initiate/Vet Sgt Abt; a standard bolter Scout (back); Initiate/Vet Sgt Mauer (front); Castellan/Captain Eversmann; Techmarine Faust (back); Initiate/Vet Sgt Rothschild; Initiate/Vet Sgt Kuhn; Standard Bearer Nagel; Initiate/Brother Schulze. Close up on the left: http://www.bighatdino.co.uk/wh40k/060622-wipleft.jpg Close up of the middle: http://www.bighatdino.co.uk/wh40k/060622-wipmid.jpg Close up of the right: http://www.bighatdino.co.uk/wh40k/060622-wipright.jpg (The sword arm is for the biker, and the flamer for the mk4 armoured marine) I'm really chuffed with how they've all turned out. Now to paint them... bring on the Chaos Black! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90151-wip-black-templarscrusaders-of-dorn/ Share on other sites

Ardante
Some advice. You want to be consistant with your bases. I notice you have sculpted bases that look like slate or some form of flat rock. then that captain has the great looking rubble base with the Stealer arm on it. and a few bare bases. Its good to keep them all uniform to give the army a theme. I'd go with the rubble bases for all your guys. I did this myself using leftover sides of chimera's when I bit ordered a few sprues for weapon options. you can also use the leftover from plastic sprues mixed in with plasti card. Just chop them up to look like metal beams. It will also look good since city fight is out and its what allot of people are playing lately. bighatdino
Gyson_Vore & Kraegus: My camera is sadly useless when it comes to the macro setting - I'll see if I can scare up another camera to handle it when I do my next update. Ardante: In those pics I hadn't applied any sand to the bases yet, and a couple of those aren't on their true bases, but are on slottas for construction purposes. I'm trying to do cityfight bases, so am using sprue and excess bitz (like spare doors and hatches from Rhinos). I'm tempted to get some of the new razorwire to make it look a bit better, too. The only figure that will probably look out of place is the Scout Vet Sgt., who I wanted to do stood up higher than the other scouts, so sculpted a simple rock - he needed to look a bit tougher than his novice charges  Thanks for the crit, though. I hope the next set of pics shows some improvement  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90151-wip-black-templarscrusaders-of-dorn/#findComment-1039727 Share on other sites
