first thing I did was to open all the
troop
boxes. removing legs and chest and heads from the sprue.

I usualy want to paint these first and arms later ...

I took a few days to remove lines, flash and other things that needed fixing.

I count them around 35 pair of legs.

next up I primed the legs, heads and chestpieces ... and went for a testpaint on a few faces ...

I tried to get them to look as an old head I painted when I was ill back in -05 or -04.

my hope is that after painting a few faces I would get back some feel on painting.

and I must say that this camera I got isn
Now that's a nice head. Can't wait to see more of your work.

to be honest, I am affraid it's good for being me :D

I been painting 3 heads today and none is as good as this one I painted in 2005.

but I will keep doing it =)

I got like 5 more heads to paint and I think I got like 6 more in the bitz box =)

and thanks for the nice words. I will upload the others I painted this night when the batteries for the camera is loaded =)

I just got a quick question for you all ...

what color on the backpack? black? white? or bone as the rest?

ideas or suggestions?

I dissgarded the split scheme idea ...

SOME bone on the backpack. Perhaps just the armored cover, with a dirty boltgun (brown it a little) color for the rest. I think that would fit in well. Looking good! Massive amount of work to do.

hehe ... I been painting black joints and the first thinned layer of kommando khaki on 15 of the marines ...

got 1 more thinned basecolor layer left and the 'downlights' in the cracks etc. ...

before the 'real' panting starts =) hehe ...

but your idea on the backpack seems good =) will do a test tomorrow I think to see how it looks =)

I would keep the scheme as is and experiment with adding black here and there. It is looking really good so far :)

like:

- Tabards and shoulder pads (bone rims) with white, ivory or deep red crosses

Cheers

my idea about the shoulderpads is black rim and bone background with a black or red cross ...

maybe even deep red/purple ... velvet maybe it

to not get mad on my marines I started making a rhino ...

this is my effort on the control panel ...
