ixupi
Well, the cord for my digital camera finally came in(That's what I get for living in Japan...). Anyhow, always got so much from you guys, figure i'd give back some. Here's a picture of a termie chaplain I did for my DIY chapter "Emperor's Dragons." This was my second attempt at NMM, with it being my first attempt without using crappy ole' craft paint I also will be entering him into Hobby Center Tokyo's grand painting competition, wish me luck? Either way, feel free to add your two cents or if you have a question about him, shoot. http://www.dropshots.com/photos/133423/20060623/053004.jpg http://www.dropshots.com/photos/133423/20060623/053005.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/ Share on other sites

ixupi
Thanks for the quick comments guys. Alextraz: Thanks, I really liked how the green came out myself, real shiny look. Recipe? I can do better, give me a day and I can have a pictured tutorial if anyone else is interested? Kuroneko: Thanks! Yep, bird is from Daemonhunter Corteaz. I originally sawed it off to customize the model, but ended up using it for this. Further comments and questions are appreciated! Keep 'em coming! Zgar
Top notch stuff! A+ from me! Can not find any flaw, and I am trying hard! ;) I second the request for a recipe on green - very cool! Carados
Nice painting but is the left arm a little too low? A few more pictures maybe ;) . Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-1037720 Share on other sites
Azazal
I really like it, totally no-traditional, but it works. The only thing I don't like, and it's minor, are the purity seals on the stormbolter. In the pic the colors for the seal and the SB casing look very similiar, and seem to blend to me. But if in real life the difference is easy to see, then nevermind. As for a tutorial on your green, yes please Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-1037730 Share on other sites
frontierpediatry
Very nice model, but it does look like his left arm is coming out of his waist. (Well actually it looks like the arm is coming out of his shoulder, but it SHOULD look like it's coming out of the side of his head, this is terminator armor dammit) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-1037743 Share on other sites
Lord Ragnarok
I normally like Chaplains in black but I really like yours. The eagle on his shoulder is a nice touch. Very lovely green and glowing eyes. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-1037752 Share on other sites
Santoro
Amasing painting-skills you got there, only downer is that it is a green chaplain. chaplains are suppose to be black, as for serving directly under the emperor, sure you knew that, but still, lovely model. Keep up the good work. - Santoro Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-1037764 Share on other sites
ixupi
Unforunately the model isn't in my possession anymore, so pictures will have to wait. Azazal: The purity seals are different, with the seals being noticably darker than the casing, I very much agree in the picture they look similiar, my apologies. Carados & Frontierpediatry: Actually, the model is kinda bent backwards if you've ever seen one, and how I positioned the arm, it's supposed to be a combination of weighed down by both the eagle and power weapon. As far as being too low, I didn't think so... : \ I'll have to check it again though. Thanks for the comments and critiques guys! Keep 'em coming. Stay tuned tomorrow for a green tutorial. Gotta get some sleep now. Edit: Did have another picture. I think the major problem when looking at the arm, is the fact that the left shoulder is a normal pad and the right has an uber plate on it. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/ixupi/chaplainarm.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-1037766 Share on other sites
NG-Griffin
The black armour may have been hightlighted a whee bit too much with the green. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90196-diy-chapter-terminator-chaplain/#findComment-1037812 Share on other sites

Master_Aerethos
I agree - a tutorial is DEFINATELY in order. And the arm really does seem far too low. I undertand where you're coming from on the positioning - but I still think it should be higher up. ixupi
Whew, finally morning over here and got much needed rest. I can't thank all of you enough for all the comments, critques and suggestions. Good or bad they've all helped and now I know I won't hesistate to toss the next project at you all, my Daemonhunters Rhino....after of course, I do the green tutorial. The test model will be an assault marine, tada. Be patient with me though, i'm kinda burned out from all the painting I did on the chaplain, but i'll suffer for the sake of my fellow brothers. NG-Griffin: Gee, you think? : P Auroris: Working on it. Master Aerethos: Yeah, now that I look at it, you are right. Seeing as how it's supposed to be a terminator. Yep. I definately positioned his arms, to be like normal power armor in that regard. Still though, liked how I did it despite it's inaccuracy...along side me and my dreams of green chaplains. Shoulder example: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y184/ixupi/chappiearmref.jpg Okay, i'll shut up about it though, seriously. Thanks to everyone pointing it out. Angelos: Glad the eyes are being noticed, I was worried I had screwed up them, thanks for the compliment man. Rabblerouser: Tch, you betcha. Chinchillapimp
Codex Shmodex, it looks fantastic! I really like the way the left arm looks in the side angle photo. It looks like he's about to crank back and whack something.
