paspinall
Some of you may remember a while back when I decided to cut down my marines in to several smaller forces. Well below are a few examples of colour schemes I have experimented in, sorry the pictures arnt so good while the camera has a macro setting it isnt such a good camera in the first place. But anyway see what you guys think. Oh and the Imperial fists.... lets just say no. Oh yes before people make the comments, this is JUST about the colours I have painted, I know the painting isnt too neat and I know there are mould lines, all these models will be cleaned off and repainted once I have picked schemes, these were just the models I had nearby at the time. *EDIT* New smaller and hopefully easier pictures* This colour was originally just the blue but I thought it would be a good approximation to a crimson fist scheme. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/pas...ll/CF.jpg This one approximates to a Dark Angel, hence the marking on the knee. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/pas...ll/DA.jpg This one is a really bad picture, a biproduct of the way I have done this mini, the fact it hasnt had a coat of matt varnish as it will be repainted as well as the camera I think but it approximates to a Blood Raven. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/pas...ll/BR.jpg This one is... red, now the picture is particullarly bad, not helped by the fact I managed to snap its base off. I feel that maybe the shadows and highlights on this are a little too subtle really. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/pas...ll/BA.jpg This one is a darker red and works better than the blood angels red one above I feel. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/pas...ll/red.jpg And finally a white, I;m using Vajello white, something I havent done before so I hope its rtelativly ok, I dont know what the fait red lines are on the models leg(s) I cant see them on the model itself so I assume its from the camera. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g138/pas...ll/white.jpg So C&C on the colours and how they have been done? Kurgan the Lurker
Two problems with you getting feedback. First, your pictures are MASSIVE 2448x1632 is not the size pic people are wanting to let load to give feedback on. Secondly the pictures are extremely blurry and have rather poor lighting. You need to set up and better light area and try using a macro function if your camera has one. If it doesn't you can get close to the mini but not so close that it is out of focus. Then crop the pictures down to just the mini, all that space to the left and right is unneccessary and is just making your pictures far bigger than is practicle for what you are asking. paspinall
They were done in a room with full length windows on two sides on a sunny day I couldnt give it much more light than that. And they are taken with a macro. But ok I will try and shrink the pictures when I get the chance. feuer_faust
Most cameras have a flash, or a slightly less intense flash for macro photos (macro setting usualy has a pictograph of a flower or somesuch). Looks like an honest attempt at highlighting on the green one, but much too dark to make an honest evaluation.
