Scar Weaver
Ok! I been tossing this idea around for a while now. Making a non "chaosy" "Fallen" army. Looked for a design that was simple, yet conveyed the basic idea. I came up with this guy. May need some sprucing up, that's why I came here. Hope pics are ok. C & C are most welcome. --Scar Ps. Yes, I know there is a mold line down the side of his hood. It's just a test mini. Also, they are a little dusty, cleaning my hobby room, so don't look to close. ixupi
Nice green but i'd DEFINATELY add some highlights. Dark colors tend to just look 'blah' without them. Gyson_Vore
I agree with ixupi, maybe paint the robe snot green or goblin green to contrast with the armor? feuer_faust
Definatley tyr reducing those pictures to 25% of their size in photoshop or somesuch, maybe 33. That's what I do. Nobody's perfect, and even the best model shows horrific flaws when it's like 20 times it's normal size. Consider that even with pics that are 2-3 times the actual size of the marine it's still more closely than one could inspect a model IRL. Whether the model's picture is at 200% or 10% you are still going to notice obvious flaws. It's like ostrich syndrome if you do that. Hide it and it doesn't exist. High light the robes and it'll look a whole lot better though, as said before. feuer_faust
Hmm, not what i meant. Of course some flaws are obvious at any size. I'm sayign really minor ones like a slightly ragged blackline or a tiny stray dot of colour look disproportionatley bad at high maginifcations. That, and it's very hard to get a good look at the whole models when the whole image barely fits on my screen. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90550-fallen-test-good-or-bad/#findComment-1041858 Share on other sites
JeffJedi
Nice to see Fallen with Black armor and green robes. Too many people use bone robes which makes no sense since they left the chapter long before the Deathwing changed to bone. Scar Weaver
Thanks fellas. So highlighting is the only suggestion?? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90550-fallen-test-good-or-bad/#findComment-1042259 Share on other sites
alien
Personally I don't like robes on the fallen, the dark angels's monastic feeling was developed after the betrayal. When I think about Fallen i see arcaic armour, dark, sinister look... Grand Master Belial
Actually, they should be more knightly to be more in line with the Caliban fluff. Though as most are from Terra then I can easily see them without robes period. I use them only as a bodyguard for a Penitent (Loyal) Commander. + EDIT + Scar Weaver you might want to look at the HH3 art. Some of them can be inspirational. My suggestion would have been to make the Green Robes darker. They look almost Salamander-ish in the photo.
