Azazal
Ok I'm looking at joining in on the pre-heresy bandwagon, darn you Abbot and McNeil ;) I'm looking at making a kill-team, a test before trying a full fledged army. Now here's the wall I'm running into, make it a one legion KT or a mixed legion group. The idea of a Luna Wolves KT does apeal to me, but soe does making a KT made up of different members of the legions that sided with Horus. Have a Luna Wolf/Son of Horus sgt commanding, a World Eater kitted out for hand to hand, Iron Warrior with a melta or plasma gun etc.. So what say you my brothers? Single legion, if so, which? Or a mixed grouping? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90693-jumping-on-the-pre-hh-bandwagon/ Share on other sites
schoon
The only real "evidence" we have of the period is from the Abnett's first Horus Heresy novel, however... Though it's clear that the Legions sometimes fought together, there's nothing that suggests that they did so in mixed units. In fact, even in the instance where they do fight together (on Murder) they tend to stay in their own groups. So I'd say stick with a single Legion according to the fluff. Solamus
Well from a "fluff" point of view maybe single legion..... but then who is to say they didn't swap and work together as well (certainly the current Horus Heresy books paint a much more 20th Century or RT-era type marine military organisation where such things could occur). From a fun and modelling point of view though I think a mixed group would be great (and is the option I Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90693-jumping-on-the-pre-hh-bandwagon/#findComment-1043212 Share on other sites

ArbitesAugmented
well, it could have lots of different leigons in it, to represent the fact that they are the best, or fighting behind enemy lines, cut off from reinforcements. Brother Djibril
You could make an Eisenstein Incident kill team. In that case it would make some sense to have a mixed unit.
