A week ago there was a topic about a destroyed rhino and I said I needed to finish mine and paint it. Well I finished the base before I left for a wedding last weekend and took some pictures today on my phone. Sorry for the bad pictures but like I said their on my phone. This is going to be a part of my soon to be Cityfight table. I need to go buy the CoD box and get started soon, thank god I got a job and have alot of birthday money!! lol. Ok now onto the pics.

Tank before becoming terrain:

Ok well I have a picture but it is on my other computer, I'll post it later.

Mods if the pics are to big, let me know, I'll change them, I think they are thie right size though. Sorry if their not.

Well comments and crit. welcome. I'll start painting this tomorrow dunno what colors yet so if you have any suggestions let me know. It is going to be on a cityfight table so remember that, and I am going to do extensive weathering and rust effects on it. I practiced rust on armor on my typhus model lol. It came out good, look for my DG pics soon!

Cheers,

MCA.

I plan to have my Techmarine friend build up about four destroyed 'terrain piece' Rhino/Razorback hulls for my Crusading Lions Chapter army. That way, I can swap out the undamaged tank for a devestated hull that can be used for cover by infantry in it's place.

As for what to use for the hulls? There are a lot of models on ebay that are badly painted that could be gotten for less than the cost of a new vehicle (including shipping cost), and with a bit of work with a drill, hot wire tool, and perhaps a sodering iron, one can easily 'smash' up badly painted vehicles for terrain pieces and re-paint them as 'destroyed' vehicles for your army.

Yes, this idea does mean hauling along a few more models in the case(s) to the game site, but your opponent will appreciate the ability to swap damaged for good models on the tabletop during play. Might even inspire him/her to build their own replacement pieces too.

Just a couple of thoughts,

Rymeer

Rymeer, would this be the same techmarine friend who constructed your dreadnought?? lol, lookin foreward to more from you. Obliterator: I've been playing 40K since I was 5 so I have alot of old models from armies that were sold or just never got finished! I'll get my digicam back from my boss or wait for mi padre((Don't have spanish leters on my keyboard)) to get home from the wedding on Friday, I got in this morning and took pictures for yall so yeah. lol. I just used a pin vice, a lighter, and a jewlers saw from Michaels I bought years ago. Then there was some old ruins that came with the 3rd edition box, abunch of random bitz of marines, and then I used needle cutters and cut up alot of sprew, and Bish is right, the meat grinder would be easier! lol. I can do a tutorial for rubble piles or destroyed vehichles, I have a Landraider and a dreadnought to do next!!! lol. The dreadnought is for the park in the middle of the city, it stretchsa over both sides of the river, the park not the dread, and the Land Raider will be by the Manufactorum to seem as though it was fresh off the line then viciously ripped apart as it went into service. I plan on buying a few Cadian boxes and some Marine Combat Squads to make wounded and dead soldiers on the field. All will be modular, like the whole table.

Keep the comments coming.

Cheers,

MCA.

++EDIT++

What do yall think of this...

Does that look like it would be gold nmm? I want to put a really worn version of that on the vehichles, especially the Landraider. It is on a WIP banner, it isn't freehand though, it is part of the cityfight summer project my friends and I are working on. Anyway, comments and crit welcome, yet again the pic was taken with my phone. I can't get a good one of Typhus.

Ok sorry about the double post guys but I had to bump it up with the updates.

About 12 hours of painting has gone into it and it still isn't done. It needs abit of touch ups on the armor. The pics are better than the last ones, but it is hard to see details, still using my cell. Boss won't return my damn camera! lol.

Hrmmm...the pics are a bit fuzzy, so its kind of hard to see everything  Try retaking the photos and put the model in front of a white sheet. Also, use the Macro function on your camera if youve got it. From what I can see, its coming along quite nicely :) Update soon!

Heimdal, sorry mate, I've had this thing sitting in my closet for almost 6 months! lol Lots of nasty things got in the way. I need some ideas for the dreadnought and the Land raider. So any suggestions are welcome. Kaldoth sorry mate, my camera phone sucks so I don't have macro, the white sheet does nothing for it.

How does the water look in the pics?? It was ment to be really mucky and dirty water.

Keep the comments coming, btw, I have been watching this from work! lol, I sat at the kiosk while no one was there and checked email and stuff.

Cheers,

MCA.
