abstract incendiaries
This summer I planned on painting a small iron warriors force and like all of my projects this may last a couple of models and then fizzle out into nothingness and i have to go back to uni so it will probably do just that, but who knows? here is the test model i painted up to see if i could cope with painting lots of metallics and hazard stripes and all that jazz. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/Warhammer%2040K/DSC02080.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/Warhammer%2040K/DSC02089.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/Warhammer%2040K/DSC02090.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/Warhammer%2040K/DSC02091.jpg ++ New photos again ++ Tell me what you think. Machinepriest
It seems you have a good grip on painting metallics. I think it looks great, so go for it! I for one would like to see more. Iron-Daemon Forge
The model dose look cool. But where did you get that Helmet??? I've never seen any like that??? philbrad
The model dose look cool. But where did you get that Helmet??? I've never seen any like that??? IP Seen a couple of similar ways to get that style of helmet. Cut down 'beakie' head IP. Vertical cut to take off the 'snout' then an angled cut each side below the eyeslots. Or use the standard SM helmet trin the sides as above and add GS to build up the front into an angle. Nice IW, love the pose! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90950-warriors-of-iron/#findComment-1046050 Share on other sites
Aquilla
Nice IW! Use of bits is good, are they FW Red Scorpion bits? Looking forward to seeing more. EDIT: No, its brown and green stuff, is it? abstract incendiaries
Thanks for the comments thus far. The helmet is a trimmed up plastic space marine helmet with some GS to make it look funky, he was roughly made to look reminiscent of MK4 armour although more for asthetics than any definite fluff reasons, so not massively accurate necessarily. and now a little bit of a very early wip of the next fellow. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/WIP/DSC02092.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/WIP/DSC02093.jpg I welcome any further comments AI Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90950-warriors-of-iron/#findComment-1046994 Share on other sites
Raziellycas
The helmet of the first is cool! and your rusted metals looks so good! great work on them! I love that chainsword! amazing! the wip is good too but the axe looks a bit fragile  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90950-warriors-of-iron/#findComment-1046998 Share on other sites
Brat0n
i really like the pose on the second model, and the way the first model has come out, it seems you have a great handle on how to paint good rusty, authentic metalics. kudos to you fine sir! and as a quick favor, would you mind revealing how to get the helmet on the second CSM? cheers! abstract incendiaries
Thanks again for the kind words. The axe will be reinforced a bit when it comes to he sculpting stage so should look less fragile then The helmet is an iron warriors helmet with the horns removed and a little GS. Jokersminis
I think they look really good. It's hard to make IW stand out from the crowd, but I think you did a good job here. Santoro
..Ironwarriors without the biggest gun they could find? ironwarriors that actually moves forward, thats something new for me ;) That aside, i really like the poses, it makes them really look intimidating(sp?) They actually makes me want to make a lil' force of 'em myself. anyways  btw, A grade rust btw..2: took a peek in your album, holy moly! that's a big termie :P - santoro Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/90950-warriors-of-iron/#findComment-1048272 Share on other sites

abstract incendiaries
Thanks for the kind words thus far. @santoro & Joker - not really all that traditional for Iron warriors, I wanted to make them a bit different and the army will in theory only contain models i will enjoy modelling so may play like a turd, but i haven't played in years, so whatever. @santoro - if you liked the big termie look forward to some more in the future. here are my latest WIPs, not much progress, but work Dungeon Siege II and learning to Dj have gotten in the way http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/WIP/DSC02095.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/WIP/DSC02096.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v32/abstract_incendiaries/WIP/DSC02097.jpg hope you like it.
