Cloaks for terminators

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I'm looking at making a Terminator Captain to lead my Dark Angel army, so that I can use a more sensible command squad. I want to give him a cloak to keep him similar to my Power Armour guy, but I can't source an appropiate part. I'd rather avoid greenstuff sculpting where possible, as I suck at anything other than hair, gap filling or fur (ribbing at a push). I've looked at the WFB Chaos Warrior sprue, but even though the warrior capes are the right size, the fur doesn't really work for me. Any ideas Frater?

Marneus Calgar torso has an attach cloak, Lysander has a cloak though I'm not sure if his torso is a seprate piece.

Both I believe may require some filing of plastic legs to get them to fit right.

There is also Grey Knight Brother Captain Stern though imo too many people use that model in their conversions...

What you could do is get either some metal foil or card and attach it then super glue it to harden it...

i have the same dilemma. the thought occurs to use square or rough triangle plasticard piece that has been shaped in hot water. the use of GS is unforntunately unavoidable, this is essential to get the folds and "hills and valleys" of the material sitting correctly.

(i have no idea whay i just used my entire years stock pile of big words in this... oh well)

good luck and hope to see some WIP soon

For what it is worth, I recently did a Deathwing Terminator Sergeant using a Black Templar tabard chest plate. It took a bit of fiddly cutting, but the end result was surprisingly good. It will be in the new US catalog, but I might put up some pics in the meantime.
