HunterB
I have tried to keep it as original and problem free as possible. Please let me know what you think. Brotherhood of Sanguinius Game terms: A sub-chapter of the Blood Angels. Uses Blood Angel rules and lists. History and fluff: The Brotherhood of Sanguinius is not a normal succession chapter. It is more of a sub-chapter or belief that has grown to the point of being viewed as its own entity. As is known many of the Blood Angel geneseed dream of the final, violent and horrific hours of the life of Sanguinius. These beings fall foul of these dreams and turn to the Death Company. Some though have seen more then the passing of the Primarch and indeed go on to envision his glorious return. Those who witness these dreams are few and far between. These visions are viewed by some as nothing more than dreams from a troubled geneseed. Others, more importantly some in powerful positions see these as an almost religious event, a Second Coming of Sanguinius and maybe other primarches a time when the greatest warriors will return and wipe every traitor and xenos out of the galaxy. Chaplains encouraged such individuals into further prayer and study. And a more spiritual warroir emerged although just as deadly. As the numbers of visionaries grew concern was cast through the leaders of the chapter, those having the dreams were discussing these with those who had not dreamt of the return and division was forming. It was decreed by the then Master that the Chaplains give those that dreamt a choice. Either be silent of such things or to pass on to a monastery which had been set up as an outpost millennia before to live out their prayer and training to be called upon in times of need. Time passed and the members of the monastery increased in number and fought when called upon but soon grew to a point of being noticed by the ever watchful eye of Terra. During a new founding in approx. the 33rd millennia the Brotherhood of Sanguinius was to be observed as a chapter in its own right to teach the religious aspect of the warriors creed, as such they became reliant upon Chaplains. And the first Master was promoted from the Chaplaincy. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91283-new-diy-chapter/ Share on other sites
Severus6
Hmmm,...I think you can get what you want by simply not using a Death Company and increasing the amount of Chaplains you have within the Chapter write-up and list. The other option is to simply go with a DIY background and have them as BA offshoots who for whatever reason do not suffer the same affects as their parent Chapter. That is if you are not dead set and certain that you want to use BA rules. I like the idea,...the belief that the BA might somehow escape the curse. Maybe not as strong as their parents but not flawed. Other successor Chapters seem to have been unable to do this. As long as it didnt stray to far from the accepted background, you might be able to do this. Blessed be the Warriors and Purity Above All come to mind. Just a thought, hope it helps. Ferrata
Personally, I think the founding of the chapter makes anything else about this chapter seem wrong. The founding is in no-way inline with current GW fluff, and something of this scale would have been written down in the Blood Angel tombs and therefore present in their codex. Why do they need to be founded this way? Why can't they be founded in the normal manner? What if a Blood Angel successor was created, and the Blood Angels where asked to send the Training Cadre to help the young chapter. The BA send a Captain and he selects nine other marines. Unknown to the BA, this captain has heard stories of the visions some of the DC have, about the coming of Sang. and is a firm believer that he will someday return. He picks nine marines of similar thought and goes off to his new chapter. Shaping the new chapter to his beliefs, they all believe that Sang will one day return and encourage members to fall to the Rage, for those who rage are closer to Sang and may find more clues to his coming. Chasing these dreams acorss the galaxy, going from one loose end to another in search of the Father. Commissar Molotov
...[they] encourage members to fall to the Rage, for those who rage are closer to Sang and may find more clues to his coming. Which actually sounds like the Lestrallio Procedure detailed in Index Astartes: Blood Angels. Perhaps some in your chapter volunteer to undergo the procedure so that the Sanguinary Priests and the Chaplains can attempt to gain more information.
