marine chapters based nearThe Maelstorm

Looking at the threads here it seems to me that there are a fair few chapters based around the maelstorm, including mine, the Iron Cobras of Phoencis.

I was wondering who else had put the maelstorm and the Badab uprising prominently in their background, and what interaction there would have been in between these and other chapters in the uprising and after/before it.

Well, the background for those Chapters that participated in the Badab War is sketchy at best,...not who participated but how they interacted with each other if they did at all. The loyalist Chapters being the Marines Errant, Minotaurs, Death Spectres, Space Sharks and a few others,...as to how they interacted is hard to say. I would think that each Chapter was chosen not just due to availability and how close they were at the time but also what they could do. The Marines Errant guarded and patrolled the shipping lanes against raiders suggesting a very strong fleet capability. The Minotaurs are said to be ruthless in their hand to hand capability; possibly boarding or breaching actions. How they worked together, if they worked together, would more than likely be based on necessity and personality. I would look frst at what you want to do with your Chapter and how you want to inject your Chapter into those events and then go from there. Just a thought, hope it helps.

cheers for that.

The Iron Cobras were not part of the uprising early on and were almost declared traitor (more details in another thread i started), and as i see it they probably would have been involved with another space marine chapter, as I see them mistrusting the Inquisition but I would imagine they would be more willing to listen to a fellow space marine chapters views and thus get started in the campaign, despite their general mistrust of other organisations.

This might be a bit out but I am open to suggestion.

Also i imagine their homeworld would be valued due to its placement, making it an ideal staging point.
