Chapter Name: The Lost Souls

Founding: 3rd

Base: Tharos

Fleet FlagShip: Unyielding Fury (Battle Barge)

History:

At the beginning of the Horus Heresey there were those in the soon to be traitor legions whose love for the emperor sould not be exstinguished by the vile forces of chaos. Prior to begining the Heresey Horus was ordered to squelch a rebellion on Isstvan 3. Secretly plotting with his fellow traitorous primarchs in orbit the warmaster soon learned that there were men within the Worldeaters, Emperors Children, and Death Guard Legions who could not be trusted to fight for Horus. these Marines were sent to Isstvan 3 in the first wave of invaders. Within hours the rebellion was over, however Horus ordered the planet to be virus bombed whilst the loyalists were still on it. Loyal Marines on board the Frigate Einstein escaped to warn the emperor of the coming Treachery. Because of the warnings sent to them from their loyal battle bretheren on board the Einstein roughly 2/3 of the first wave of loyal space marines survived. Horus was stunned to see that his plot had failed to rid his legions of the loyalists, before he could act however Angron of the world eaters legion took it upon himself to destroy those souls that still followed the Emperors light. SO the stage was set for the first battle of the Horus Heresey. 3 corrupted primarchs against a ragtag group of betrayed spacemarines. The loyalists were led by captains Tarvitz of the Emperors Children and Captain Garro of The Death Guard. The loyalists fought with zeal that could match a beast in its fury. However Slowly all but a few of the loyalists fall and Horus retreats to Isstvan 5 to set up a base of operations. With the end of the Heresey the remaining legions were broken up and split into their original chapters. Those whose legions had turned traitor but still remained true to the Emperor and the Imperium were incorporated into the new chapters of the 2nd founding out of the 2nd Founding grew the Lost Souls. Greetings Brother-Captain LaCroix,

About two years ago i was also going to build a DIY chapter called the Lost Souls, but i opted for Relictors instead, so this article caught my eye. In all honesty i think the name 'Lost Souls' better suits a renegade chapter who pledge no loyalty, i would imagine a Lost Soul to be.. well.. lost! Confused with who and what to believe so instead they don't believe in anything. About your tactics, is their any background as to why your chapter prefers fast attack, maybe they find it hard to aquire vehicles and terminator suits because of the inquisitions interference. Overall i think some aspects need condensing such as the litanies of battle while expanding/refining the background, such as fast attack doctrine (as already mentioned) and the skull taking thing. Seems more akin to khorne than loyalist marines, so it's no wonder the inquisition are suspicious.

Just my thoughts

Sorry guys but when i deited my post it deleted half of it :-( :D ;) :D :o :cuss
