GreyDeath
Just finished painting these guys up. I started them and converted them about sheesh 2 years ago and put some paint on them just to game with. And as normal with me and my conversions never finished them. I went pretty fast and as I just wanted them finished so pretty harsh highlights did not take my time to transition any more smoother etc. Table top quality is what I am going for. Just wanted these darn guys done good enough to call finished. So mostly finished them and cleaned them up to work as a good kill team or Scout squad for a Salamanders army. In the end I think I pulled it off enough to make them stand out a little and look pretty good. Not as good as most of you paint around here but nice for me. But hey I did get practice and painted up 10 figs fully so thats a huge accomplishment for me. Dang...... Pics just wount take. I tried more light and dark but just cant get a good photo today. But anyways here is what I have. Close up of 3 them http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL169/1054762/8763643/165600832.jpg 10 man squad http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL169/1054762/8763643/165600816.jpg Thanks for looking. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91508-table-top-salamander-squad/ Share on other sites
Ignatius
The painting is good. Nice and clean with some high lighting. The right shoulder pads could also do with some detail, some tactical marking or some flames would be nice. The thing I don't like about them is the arms and heads. I'm just not a fan of the bare arms, I not sure it fits in with the Sallies at all! Space wolves yes, Sallies no. I don't think they capture the character of the Sallies! Sorry. But as said before nothing wrong with the painting, I would say they are of a higher standard than table top quality! Exhumed
Looks good. Maybe not fitting with everyones idea of salamanders, but then why should everyone have the same idea? The green is nice and consistent and the skin looks great also. The Angelus Sanctus
Lookin good there GD, very well done :P I think the bare arms give some extra spice to the minis, as its a leap outside the norm. For me i think variation is always great, and given how well you painted them up, its hard to say 'nay' to them given their apperance. Keep up the good work :) Im also moving this to i THINK the HoH section to keep up with the new layout of the PC&A (and dont worry, no harm done, everyone is still getting used to the changes). :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91508-table-top-salamander-squad/#findComment-1051296 Share on other sites
Obliterator
I really like them. The combination of marine and Catachan sprues make for very characterfull minis. Well done  . GreyDeath
OOps sorry about posting in wrong spot as it said hall of honor I did not think my painting belonged in here. :) I mostly use these guys as my scouts so thats where the bare arms came in. I should have said that. As I wanted slow and purposeful type looking scouts. You know tougher for Salamanders Scouts. Also I use them as a kill team. So again different. I like the added Details I am terrified of free hand So I guess if your afraid then you should do it. so Some Flames on the other side would be great. And on a couple knee pads painted black then add flames would be cool also. OK thanks alot great feedback and much appreciated. Thanks alot everyone. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91508-table-top-salamander-squad/#findComment-1051801 Share on other sites
Master Toddius
GD your painting skills have GREATLY increased since the first stuff I've seen you do. That is a really great Sallie squad. Nice balance, clean, and better than just table top in my opinion. Good Job brother. Keep it up.
