Brother Captain Aruis
Are the size mention above good enough for swapping out weapons, arms, jump pack backpack? The Angelus Sanctus
They should be fine for those purposes as they sound about the same size i use, however im not full bottle on the Imperial system of things. However these are very strong lil guys. Did an Immolator/Rhino conversion with them and i can assure you that nothing will randomly fall off unless you will it to move. The Angelus Sanctus
Just make you take your time: get a good solid fit between the two magnets and make sure you have the right ends facing each other. The last thing you want is to magnetize an arm and have it move away from the model. I swear Hobbes said he would try that idea one day. -Q-
The floating anything discussion comes up too often around here ;) Maybe a search will find some of those threads, don't know if they survived the dark time. BUT most important about these magnets... *never* put one on either side of your tongue. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91608-20-neodymium-40k-magnet-116-x-132/#findComment-1052585 Share on other sites
Brother Captain Aruis
one more thing do i have to use a drill or something to put magnets on my models or can i just glue them on to the part i want to be magnetizble? -Q- that make me want to try it... BC Aruis - indeed you will have to (in about 95% of cases) use a drill bit to make a hole for the magnet to sit in. After having made holes the very hard way and the very easy way, i do recommend having drill bit sizes that match the magets you are using as you will get a nice perfect hole and with very minimal hassle in terms of making it. The last things i magnetised where my Lion Guard terminators and this was after i got the matching drill bit to the magnets diameter and boy it makes ALOT of difference. lieutenant L
Hi To fit them - glue together your torso - then drill into the arms - a drill bit that is the same size or just a little bigger is best - as you glue in the magnets with super glue and it will then hide gaps Generally - i use D1/8" x 1/16" magnets I pay Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91608-20-neodymium-40k-magnet-116-x-132/#findComment-1052601 Share on other sites
