Beornling 3.1415
and being ADD I can't stand rolling in a non contained area. I was thinking of making a small "casino craps" style box, felt covered with the egg crate style wall, yet small enough to be portable. So is this a worthy project, would it be acceptable for: 1. Most Gaming Stores 2. GW stores/tourneys 3. games day? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91641-well-my-backgammon-box-bit-the-farn/ Share on other sites
-Q-
It would be a worthy project if it were Power Armored. So put a felt Chapter Badge on the bottom :) This thing is made with colored PVC pipe. You could do something similar pretty easily. or get a jewelry box. or one of those wooden unfinished boxes from Michaels, paint your Chapter Badge on the outside, line the inside with leather and felt. flyinghippo
Or you could pull out all stops and make a themed one. What about using a sheet of MDF/Masonite for the base Use some CoD terrain along the outside edges and then a layer of either styrofoam or wood inside that. Then for a final touch put your chapter's/god's symbol in the centre. Also forget where I saw this but someone had a nice dice box which could be transposed into a larger version as a dice rolling area. Penitent Dreadnought
I like the idea, simply because I abhor stray dice knocking down models on the battlefield. However, the people I game with are against contained rolling areas. When all you're using is an unmodified shoebox, I don't understand the complaints... Anyways, thanks for the link, Q! -Q-
Hippo that's a great idea! It also reminds me of a cool dice roller from Flying Tricycle. I actually own one but haven't used it in years. This same concept could be easily made with the new CoD building sets. Dammit... I have too many unfinished projects already! I guess it could be portable too if you did it as a first floor or low barricade style thing. This way your dice box isn't taking up space, it's adding to the atmosphere! flyinghippo
Yeah thats what I sorta meant doing it as a 1 story building... Also you could maybe add a crater attached to the side as a cup-holder... SigmundMan
Or you could make one in the shape of a coffin like this http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/Sigmundman/P7135202.jpg and on the lid would go your chapter badge (or on the velvet, if you want to ruin really cool looking velvet) http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/Sigmundman/P7135198.jpg Perfect for Legion of the Damned or Mortifactors or any other legion with a preoccupation with death. No I guess that would be all of them huh.. but anyway its easy to make.
