Brother Evar
Just wondering how compadible the plastic dread parts are with the new metal ven dread. Can the parts be mixed and mached well? Because I will be buying some dreads soon and need to know what I am in for. ^_^ ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91794-dreadnaughts/ Share on other sites
Blakky
Im sorry, I am uncertain of the answer. However I would assume there not a good match, the general scale of the ven. in comparison seems odd. I dont see why you would want/need to swap the parts anyway. Maybe a better idea on specifics? 'I want a lascannon toting venerable dreadnought with the CCW from the plastics too' for example.... reaper_man
My local GW manager used a plastic dreadnought assault cannon on his venerable while he was still painting the venerables one, so I assume it fits well enough and without a huge deal of work Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91794-dreadnaughts/#findComment-1055199 Share on other sites
Techmarine Dannyl
Well I'm not sure how many other people have seen it but there's a venerable dread master class on the GW website, and it kinda gives a shot of all the components HERE and from the looks of things it seems they should fit together as the 'lugs' look somewhat the same size. Hope thats of some help. Dan ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91794-dreadnaughts/#findComment-1055219 Share on other sites
Brother Evar
Judging from the pic from Techmarine Dannyl the parts look like they will fit. I was planning on a hellfire dread with the plastic dread legs, plastic exaust pack, melal ven body with the plastic tl las and ML. also want to make a standard dread loadout with HF with the leftover parts. thats the plan anyway. Shinobi_soldier
i bet they will fot, judging by the scale, but if they dont it just means a bit more work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91794-dreadnaughts/#findComment-1055680 Share on other sites
madscuzzy
They do fit. In fact, the venerable is using the plastic ones as the base, with extra armour on it. They are, distinctly different in design, so some modelling on the plastic ones would be required. Considering the weight difference between plastic and metal, you would most prollie need to keep both sides of the same type. Eg. Plastic assc with a plastic DCCW or plastic missile launcher, or the dread would tip to one side...:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91794-dreadnaughts/#findComment-1056013 Share on other sites
