Iron-Daemon Forge
Hi Just to ask, has anyone converted the legs, you get in the Chaos Marine box. To make them as though there running??? Just right now the only running legs are the Bezerkers or Marines assult legs & there kind of.. NOT what I am looking for. So again I do NOT want to use Bezerker or marine assult legs!!!! So it to see if any memeber has converted the chaos marine legs as though there running, can they show photos & go throught set by set how the done this??? It for the GT, as due to the list might change, it'll mean I have to re-build my HQ. I'd also like to add in spikes to the legs, to rep spike bits & as thought (like the Daemon Prince) have the spike bursting out the armour, with bit of green stuff & needle to put in the cracks :D Just to show the lord walking that path of my current Warsmith. But need to be with Plastic, as plastic easyer to convert. Thanks IP Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/ Share on other sites
Teethgrinder
I've made a couple of running berzerkers with the Mairne Assault legs and Chaos Space Marine leg armour: http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y135/Teethgrinda/Khorne%20Berzerkers/Berzerker2a.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y135/Teethgrinda/Khorne%20Berzerkers/Berzerker1a.jpg Not that those photos show them off too well. It can be done, but takes a little ingenuity to make the different leg sections fit together nicely enough for it to look convincing and not horrible. I added the exposed cables of the older marks of armour, so you should have plenty of space for your spikes. -Q-
Erm, Teethgrinder... you should be posting a lot more pictures around here! ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/#findComment-1055220 Share on other sites
The Angelus Sanctus
Those are some gorgeous looking Berzerkers there, very well done ;). I guess for simple 'running' based legs, Assault marines are the first choice, followed by the legs that Berzerkers use. If you feel brave enough you can hack up some of the marine legs and repose them with wire and GS. It isnt too difficult, but this will take a bit of extra work. Iron-Daemon Forge
Teethgrinder: Thanks, just to ask what did you make for the rims???? They also look very cool, remind me of 2ed Khonre Bezerker with the upper body. Master_Aerethos
Erm, Teethgrinder... you should be posting a lot more pictures around here! blink.gif My thoughts exactly. I agree with Angelus, try using the wire method, the tutorial should be in the archives. Lemme check....hmmm, well when I checked just now, the link is down. Sorry Mate! The Angelus Sanctus
Im pretty sure Barphranges made a quick tutorial on how to repose legs, although i cant recall if the Tute was here on the B&C or elsewhere (its been a while since ive seen it). undead marine
Theethgrinders legs looks like Assault marine upperlegs, and chaos marine lower legs. Im sure he also said that. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/#findComment-1055307 Share on other sites
Shinobi_soldier
@ teethgrinder: nice work, ive never seen any of your models before, you defenetly need to post them more often, nice work there @Insane psychopath: i would use the running legs from the assault marines and just add icons to them. the wire method works o.k., but it takes a lot of work. it can be found in white dwarf, although im not sure of the issue... sorry ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/#findComment-1055445 Share on other sites
Iron-Daemon Forge
@Insane psychopath: i would use the running legs from the assault marines and just add icons to them. As said in my orignal post, the assult legs are not what I am looking for. I was hopeing to use the normal Chaos Marines legs in the Plastic set & wanted to see how someone converted there own. Mayhem
alright... I don't have any photos (yet.. give me a little while to find some batteries for my camera), but the procedure isn't terribly complex.. just tricky. 1 - Cut your marine legs off the hips aong the ribbed part of joint. Now cut at least one of hte legs in half CAREFULLY along the knee joint. If their is a knee pad, don't boter trying to save it. 2 - Clean each peice up until only "armour" is left... 3 - Drill holes for the wire that your going to use to repositon the legs, use something fairly thick so it'll stay in place while you work. 4 - Wire the legs into the postion you wat them to be in... iglue the wire in place and let it set for a little while. 5 - Use greenstuff to model the ribbed part of the legs you cut away... adnto replace any kneepads you may have destroyed. 6 - let is set for a bit, then use a fine detail tool to medl the acutal riibbing and let it cure completely. If you need to repostion the feet at all, its the same basic prcedure. That help at all? I'll try to get pics of the runnign marine I'm workign on right now to help ASAP. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/#findComment-1055692 Share on other sites
Maladon
IP, there is chaos running legs in the khorne berserker set around six pairs. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/#findComment-1055699 Share on other sites
The Angelus Sanctus
Mayhem's method is very good, and that would be the way id go about reposing legs. Plus, IIRC the Chaos legs are easier to work with than marine legs since most of them dont have the rounded kneepad section, so it will be less work when it comes to 'rebuilding' the legs. Everscream
IP, there is chaos running legs in the khorne berserker set around six pairs. Those are not really running legs, theyre more like... Charging-headlong-to-the-enemy-and-hope-that-i.dont loose-my-balance-and-trips- legs :) Seriously, the assault marine legs are cooler, IMHO - especially when converted like Teethgrinders 'zerkers. Those models are great Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/#findComment-1055721 Share on other sites

TechnoMagi
Heres my contribution. The man in blue near the mid was a very very old work but i still use him ingame. the legs were a custom pose from chaos marine legs cut at the knees and the torso thing. In game he is an inquisitor for my relictors army carrying a psycannon and force weapon. sometimes hes a librarian with a daemon weapon. o ya checkout my 2nd Ed marine with jumppacks :> Also ill show a pic of a newer work of a librarian with a daemon weapon is a werid pose landing or taking off. http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j154/technomagi/IMG_0219.jpg http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j154/technomagi/1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91799-making-chaos-legs-in-running-pose/#findComment-1056021 Share on other sites
