DARKTROOPER
I don't know if this should be in the Amicus or Liber but I figured here would work. So! What exactly is the organ that absorbs memories and how does it function(if explained). I'm working on a BA successor that ritualistically drink the blood or friends and foes to gather knowledge. Still working on them but this organ plays a major part in their traditions and practices. Also I know of the Soul Drinkers but does anyone know of any other chapters that are like them? Commissar Molotov
Space Marines can gain part of a person or creature's memory by eating its flesh. This special organ (the Omophagea) is implanted between the thoracic vertebrae and the stomach wall. It works by absorbing genetic material from the meal itself. It's never been scientifically explained, but that's the case with so many of the Space Marines' organs. I'm given to understand the Soul Drinkers have some relation with their Omophagea, but having never read the books I wouldn't be able to tell you. Aradiel
the organ works when the marine eats the brain of the creature. in some places the description mentions eating the flesh, but in others it refers specificaly to the brain (check the BL novels Eye of Terror and Child of Chaos if my memory serves me). since memories are just chimical reactions on the brain, the organ is able in some way to absorb them. Keyoz Devastrius
Aradiel: since memories are just chemical reactions on the brain, the organ is able in some way to absorb them. Rubbish. The whole process of thinking is based on electricity. Memories are written in the net of neurons and chemical reactions are only having place on the connections of slower neurons. All chemical reactions on the connections are the same, so there Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/91893-the-memory-absorbing-organ/#findComment-1058136 Share on other sites
